Because the entire system enabled disgusting behavior from people like Skepple. Plus its meaningless. For example last year and even this year. I would do Affinity innings with some crappy players just to rack up innings. I would take way more Ls than usual and my BA dips. Then I would switch to my Good team and all of sudden I am winning and I make WS.
People like Skepple would look at my record and by like he is horrible because a dude like him is so desperate to win that he couldn't conceive of the possibility dudes might not being playing to win every game.
That's why I'm not 100% behind it being accessible on the website. Or, at least, have an opt-out option.
If it's on the opening screen when you match up with someone, then it's all good, I think.
But, you know, that would leave the door open for SDS to screw something else up with this game. Save it for next year, I guess.
Hey if people quote mav I can still see what he says, interesting.
If I wanted trash someone for their record I can literally do that right now by looking it up in the game... not really relevant to what’s wanted here.

For sure, put it up on the opening screen beside your record, or even take the record out and just have the rating there, it would probably cut down on the number of friendly quits that get asked for, win-win

The funny thing is that I know he doesn't have me on ignore. But I will play along. I am happy to. When I was reversing the participation trophy stuff and applying it to his real life I sort of felt bad. But them my hysterical laughter at it made it feel better. There is something about that level of undeserved arrogance that bothers me. But its cool because I think I set him straight.

First off. I am saying peeps should be able to make WS in multiple ways that allow them to enjoy the game and also compete. No different than how some make it using zone, zone analog or timed only
Secondly, My God...I normally thinking owning someone on a website is pathetic. But dude was coming at me about participation trophies and now I have him rethinking is career. Its embarrassing and admittedly cringe worthy...but you can't possibly say that despite his attempts to try to insult he ended up getting the worst end of the stick. I gave his entire career a participation trophy. [censored] son.

I agree. You should be able to make WS playing on any difficulty and match make based on difficulty chosen independent of difficulty. In this way, you can play at whatever difficulty is more fun. Yes, because it makes it more accessible to more people and you will be playing on veteran vs a higher caliber player AND playing on veteran won’t yield as many pts in a win so it will take longer.
I bet you’ve never played competitive sports in your life. This is an awful take. Ranked season is a competitive format. It’s accessible to everyone who makes their way up.

Actually i have. At a very elite level. That might be why I don’t have the need to demonstrate my specialness via a video game. In real sports you don’t change entire rules as you move up. Do we make the mind closer. No. Not to mention this just a simulation
This isn’t about proving specialness at all. I could care less what people think about myself as a player. I want to play a game that is challenging and rewards good input, while also being competitive.
If you don’t mind me asking, what do you define as an “elite level”? I’m genuinely curious because your thoughts align with someone who believes in participation trophies.
Elite level in my case is beating Olympians in practice and almost Olympians in completion. But to me elite is what you make of it. If someone says they are elite...ok cool you are elite.

I don’t think that I or anyone should dictate what your gaming experience is. If you like the highest difficulty setting go for it. I just don’t think anyone should dictate to me. All completion is fair as long as the same setting is applied to all parties.What Olympic type events did you participate in? Just genuinely curious.
We all have different opinions on gameplay. I don’t find your approach to be efficient, and I don’t think the rewards that are obtainable should be accessible to people who just play on easier difficulties. There should be challenges, you should lose games.
The ranked seasons format isn’t catered to elites. It’s widely accessible to those people who take on the challenge of making the push. They can decide for themselves if it’s worth it. If not, there are plenty of other modes to play!

Relax, there have been plenty of other options brought up to work around having the ratings on the website, have ratings show at the beginning of the game instead of record etc.
If someone wanted to look up your record, it not being on the website wouldn't stop them.

Did not know this was taken away, I am a low level player the last two year highest I got last year was DS and highest so far this year is PR. I play for fun. I do not care if someone knows my rating. I am not afraid if I get killed by someone better than me. If I am losing by 4 or more I will usually just quit. I never look up a players rating.

Why does the we really matter, why do you care if someone can see your Rating, I suck at hitting but can hold my own with pitching, if someone wants to bash me over a video game they have no life or no respect. I will just laugh at them. In return if someone is good at the game, sometimes I would want to know any thing that can help me but you will not get that with no respect. I would rather not play anyone on the 700 rating if I do not have to until I get to that level. It works good for all

“Raises hand”. It’s useful information. I mean if SDS prides itself on being realistic, why shouldn’t we have a “scouting report” to know who we’re playing?
I suck at hitting and I am in the we I do not need to play someone who is at 700 unless I get to 700

Yeah but isn't that valid? I'm WS level and it's hard for me to know whose opinions to value because you have people saying, "this card rakes" and you don't know if they're grinding conquest on rookie or playing 1100 level unless they tell you.
I agree to an extent. You obviously don’t want to take the opinions of people who have yet to touch HOF difficulty. But at this point the way the game plays I think records are really misleading. I’m struggling to make it out of wild card right now but all last year I was a CS player and made World Series a few times. My win percentage is not even close to what it usually is right now. I think all star difficulty is way too easy to hit. I’ve outhit my opponent in almost every single game I’ve played on all star yet this ranked season I’m only 2 games above .500 with every game being 11-10 or something ridiculous.
I can not hit but I can pitch, If I could hit as good as I pitch in this game I would be up in the higher ranks.

The best players not to cater to you casuals who think everything should be given to youI not a casual but I am average and do not believe everything should be handed to anyone.
That said, people like you need to get off your high horse thinking your sh!t don't stink. It's the casuals and average who pay for this game to exist in the first place since they make up 90% of the user base. Keep trying to alienate that group and see what that does to this game.
Nothing is being handed. You have to beat an opponent at a harder level. Why should guys with monitors and sick internet be given WS because those advantages are real.
You still have to win. You can now have fun and play the game for enjoyment and competition
lot's of people have fun on hall of fame, it's not their fault you don't, I can't imagine saying you should be able to make it to the highest level of this game by playing on veteran lol
I am an average player cause I can pitch well, I can not hit worth a [censored], My ERA on AS is low 2.00 but my AVG is .202 last I checked. I do not think anyone should be rewarded on any level in RS playing on VET. AS and above, I do not care to waste time practicing hitting. I have never made WS. I am glad I can buy those cards off the market if I choose to. How can someone equal rewards playing on AS to HOF. There is a reason why players like Skepple and others make WS they are good, they put the time in to be good. Should I as a poor hitter get to make WS cause I am not as good. SDS should cater to me cause I have not learned how to time pitches or have the patience at the plate to take pitches. NOPE. I am ok with that. To me i do not care for my ranking I just want some of the cards and so I learned how to flip cards on the market and put my time in there. So much more to this game than just making WS.

It’s a video game that’s primary goal is to have fun. Why should I be forced to play on HOF to achieve WS because you are not winning enough in life. You are a walking participation trophy. Inclusivity is more fun imo. The game shouldn’t be built for a select few. If you want to show you are the best of the best. Create an online league and be about that life.
You are forced cause that is how SDS made it to. What is your problem. I am not good and who cares if they can see your ranking. If those high players want to judge me for not being able to hit well I can freakin pitch in every MLB the show started DD in 17 and my era has been low 2's playing on AS. in 2017 my ERA was under 2. We all know good pitching without hitting only gets you so far. If you want to make it to WS in this game and can not do it in RS go play MTO.

Skepple wants to know what Rank you are at to know if he is playing on AS or HOF. Can't you comprehend what you read.
