Are all the server issues for online play?

I don't play much online, mainly offline DD players but this year I have played events.
I see a lot of posts here and all over social media on how bad the servers are this year. I really have not experienced it but is it because I mainly play offline? I never play ranked or BR. Is this where most of these issues are occuring?

@LuvMyXBOX_XBL yes it’s either just those 2 modes effected or not being able to even access diamond dynasty. If u have not experienced the second one at one point or another u are beyond lucky.
