Showdown

@capardo_XBL I understand the frustration with no sell cards being stuck behind certain modes, but they shouldn’t get rid of a mode just because below average players can’t complete it.
-
I don't hate having showdown mission in DQ, they tend to be relatively short and if you mess up it's not the end of your run. Plus they are mixed up amongst other styles of 'moments'. Showdown as a mode itself however is just dull doing exactly the same thing again and again.
I'd prefer it if it was atleast a mixture of different moments rather than just at bat with players that I don't like using against the same pitcher.

Correct. These cards should simply not be no sell. No mode specific cards should be. Mini seasons is the worst for this because those cards should be far better than they are for the effort, and they are also no sell. its a lose lose
But showdown is still [censored]. I would be 100% in favor of a different draft style mode that uses your own cards, and has you pitch/play defense. Keep the current style of showdown in a less rng reliant version of DQ.

You do get a reward. Bronze packs

It is not as if I tried Showdowns once then gave up. I've finished every conquest. DQ, Mini League, and Program in the game. I try playing Showdown every day at the moment as there is nothing left to do in an attempt to find some joy in it, but ultimately it just isn't fun.
The moments take too long to complete, and just being at bat for 70 pitches in a row is dull.
It would be massively improved by first not costing anything to enter. It is insane that all other modes are free but this one costs credits.
Let the player choose the order of showdown moments, and have consistency between showdowns if losing a moment stop you from completing more or not.
Also you can spend an hour on this mode spend credits and still receive nothing if you lose a moment. Atleast DQ gives you PXP, XP, and program progress.

Showdown should never be required for anything (and I am very good at them). The problems with this mode (over any others mentioned) are:
- it isn’t even remotely playing baseball (and at that not even with your team) in an ultimate team mode
- the mode generates no stats for missions (in a DD that has an obscene amount of missions always active)
- the mode is all or nothing with (potentially) a huge time commitment (especially important for people that don’t live on the app)
I don’t think they need to ditch the mode, but there should never be anything that requires you to play it (ie the spring breakout or NL showdowns last year)
-
I absolutely despise conquests and mini seasons. However, I dont think the modes should just be killed because I don't like them. All the offline modes should have rewards to them, and if you dont want to do it, thats fine, but dont try to ruin it for the people who actually do like it

This! I’m fine with moments not allowing stats but I hate showdowns not allowing it for program advancement. It is a little thing but if I have to come back down 5 runs, why not allow me to generate some PXP and stats for my guys, especially for program stars

@The_Bane_Event_PSN It's really stands out as an issue when every other game mode lets you progress programs.
If they want to keep Showdown in the game then they should just take it out of DD as it doesn't make any sense and have it on the main menu alongside Home Run Derby.

If they made the card rewards guaranteed, I’d always play the mode at least once. Maybe make it only at Veteran difficulty if they want to make it somewhat a challenge. If you play All Star, you get maybe an extra Show Pack, Hall of Fame a Ballin Pack, Legend a Jumbo pack, Goat a Chase pack. You get the idea. Some kind of incentive for those that want to play higher difficulties. I’m just not a fan of the percentages they put in. Why play All Star over rookie for an extra 7% chance. They can still have failures or successes in the moments and showdowns give positive or negative perks, just remove the percentages.
Isn't that just common sense! I mean the reward for winning a contest should be certain, not a lottery outcome. Imagine the reaction should winning the Super Bowl result in picking what's behind doors #1, #2, or #3, and having a donkey behind one of the doors!
Yet, that's pretty much the outcome SDS chose. People can successfully complete the same contest and end up with radically different rewards. No real world sports league could get away with such.

@Jay_Kimber_PSN Or just allow us to make progress in showdowns. Why is everyone’s solution to an imperfect aspect of the game, to get rid of it? Detaching it from DD makes zero sense.
-
In the presentation video it showed Mini Seasons, Diamond Quest, Conquest and Showdown.
-
@GoozeFn_PSN having it in DD also makes no sense as no part of it has anything to do with DD. If they really want to keep the mode then just move it to join it's most similar partner of Home Run Derby.
-
@Jay_Kimber_PSN It’s literally only been a DD game. That makes no sense.
-
Showdown could be better incorporated by having draft be based on cards you own, but the mode was probably designed for you to try out new cards when they release. Which moments does better.
A version of showdown exists in DQ and while I despised DQ last year I do think it has potential. Killing Showdown in favor of iterating on DQ is what I would do.

@Teak2112_MLBTS Giving us less ways to grind sounds awful.

Showdown isnt a way to grind though. There is no value in doing it outside of obtaining the collection fodder. They cant even be bothered to put good cards behind it.
-
@Teak2112_MLBTS Showdowns often give program progress.
-
@GoozeFn_PSN once in a blue moon they are part of a program. It's the only way they can force any relevance with DD.
-
@Jay_Kimber_PSN Maybe that was the case last year. Before that it was the norm to be attached to a program.
