ERROR Cannot load the saved data because it is corrupted??????
-
I’m honestly devastated right now. I’ve spent countless hours grinding in Road to the Show, building my player into a 99 overall two way star, a starting pitcher and shortstop. I was all the way in the 2043 season with the Padres, and seeing my player grow and dominate has been one of the most rewarding gaming experiences I’ve had.
Then suddenly, out of nowhere, I get the dreaded error “Cannot load the saved data because it is corrupted.” My saves were offline, not on the server, but that shouldn’t matter. All of that hard work, all of those seasons, gone just like that. And now the game is forcing me to start completely over from scratch, not even at a 99 overall, but as if I never played at all.
This really hurts. I worked hard for years of in game progression, and it’s heartbreaking to see it wiped out with no safety net. I know glitches happen, but this shouldn’t be something that erases hundreds of hours of dedication.
I just want to know why isn’t there a stronger safeguard for offline saves? Why isn’t there at least a backup file or a recovery option? Players invest so much time and passion into RTTS, and it’s crushing to lose it all in one moment.
Please, SDS, this needs to be addressed. Not just for me, but for anyone else who could lose everything they’ve built. Smh

I’ll tell you why, btw I’m really sorry that must suck, because SDS just doesn’t care. If it’s not DD, what do they care?

@TheBigPapa55_PSN this was the first year I actually played over 10 seasons with my rtts character now I have to start over smh

Did you ever find a fix?

Folks, this easy method to prevent this from happening has been repeatedly discussed here. Frankly, SDS should make one of those threads a sticky to keep it at the top. You cannot rely on the auto-save feature to prevent this issue. This is because it saves over the same slot each and every time. So, if that auto-save file gets corrupted, you have no place to go back to.
However, if you manually save your RTTS progress, then you have ten save slots to choose from. If you regularly just rotate the use of those slots, saving the most recent save in the oldest of the ten slots, then you will have multiple points to go back to if your auto-save file becomes corrupted.

@PriorFir4383355_XBL You also have to reset your system when a file is corrupted, or else it will corrupt every backup!!!

That's not my experience. A couple of times with MLB 25 I did experience a corrupted auto-save file and all I had to do was load one of my manual backup files and restarted play from that point. Lost just a few days of action. A system reset was not required.
