Feels like I’m playing a meta, not baseball
-
I've gone from 657 to 245 since last weekend. I'm getting low and inside breaking balls spanked 450 feet by players in the 300s or they are taking every borderline pitch with the eye of Tony Gwynn. It's insane. I don't know if I'm doing something different or what but it feels like no matter what I try i'm getting spanked.

@Barfy-Bad-Gas_XBL
Don't throw breaking balls low and in for one thing. -
A lot of us have dropped drastically in ranked. It’s nearing post season. Players are falling off and moving towards other games. Servers are going to get worse and already are. Gameplay will be worse and DDA and RNG will be worse. When all this happens I start losing silly games to opponents half my rank. But honestly it’s kind of been like this all year. It’s just getting worse. You’ll get the player that’s ranked 400 swing late or early on 3 consecutive hits. Then suddenly they slam a grand slam lol. Been happening to me a lot lately. The little dinks up the middle. The gameplay is atrocious. I expect player base has fallen big time

This just happened to me in a game. You’re right I forgot what time of year it is. Mid August. Most of the casuals have moved on to Madden. The only ones left are the diehards and/or the players who are still having success, the players that have the meta scripted down to a tee.
I’ve had enough. Just deleted the game. I’ll probably reinstall after a couple of weeks, but diamond dynasty just isn’t a fun experience right now.
-
They could include online rated into diamond dynasty where you select a current team lineup vs your opponent current team lineup . Stadium of your choice . All live series. Even if you don't have that player in your collection. Your record goes on your overall ranked record . You get better rewards if you pick a lower overall team like the Rockies .
-
@RAisEdByGoAt_XBL Wow... i hadn't considered that the player pool would be shrinking and impacting rankings and competition. Makes a lot of sense and really makes me feel better. haha. I still really like playing online so i'll just keep working to get better and hopefully be able to make WS next year.
-
They also chased away the more casual online players with missions like get 200 hits. Thats the main reason I am not playing online this season. That and the time i did try i get dashboarded on. Allowing griefing like that is even worse than the server nonsense.

Didn't you say that you have fiber? If so, that's the issue. I can assure you the more people that leave the worse it gets. Been dealing with this for years. Feels like you're throwing slow pitch softball. I still haven't come up with a fix despite trying everything possible. Thought I had one doing a bandwidth limiter and for 2 days I saw the actual pitch speeds of the game, no delays in baserunning, etc. That was very short lived and went right back to normal. I haven't touched the game for maybe a few weeks and have zero desire to. Bought Ready or Not and have been playing the BF beta.
A 99 of my favorite player of all time (Brett) came out and right now have zero desire to pursue him. Takes me a lot for me to get frustrated enough not to play the game but I'm pretty much there. Not even sure if I'll play WC coming up. I don't mind losing, the game just isn't fun with these connections.

Play online with reg teams. Yes most people pick the dodgers etc but I’m having a lot more fun with it than DD online. There’s no reward really but I do t care.
-
@DemIsE4_XBL I also have fiber. So maybe that is what it is. I did point forward my internet to my xbox and that seems to be helping and its also wired. Also I moved my router away from the xbox a little bit and made sure my xbox is on a stand alone table all by itself. Whats really funny is the regular wireless controller has way less input lag than my expensive power A wired controller. The bottom line is mlb the show needs their own servers! And clearly there are way too many issues with the game.
-
@Ditka06_MLBTS Yea, I did the port forwarding thing too but didn't really see a change. The reason I have made WS multiple times in the last 4 years is because for some reason there would be 1 day that the game would play great. I would literally play around 9 games just that day to make WS. When the connections are good, WS is quite easy for me. It is very rare to get good connections on fiber though. Those 2 days the connections were good opened my eyes about how ridiculous the game plays for me most times.
I find it hard to believe it is on my end when I have done everything and changed a lot of stuff. Also seems like the only people affected by connections in this game are on fiber. Likely has to do something with matching against people a long way away. Most of my opponents are east/west coast which when I'm in KC isn't a good thing on P2P.
-
@DemIsE4_XBL that is very interesting! Maybe fiber is set up within the game to match us farther away from our oppenents. Fiber is supposed to be the best internet. So maybe the game just isn't caught up to it or isn't reading the fiber connection properly. Interesting to say the least.

I’ve been so diamond dynasty heavy over the years. I forget this mode exists. I might have to try it out. could be a much better experience.

Think I’ll add my story here, Seems like a good thread…I was a whale until about 2 months ago. I had every card in the game. Didn’t bother me one bit to spend. But once I got Ted Williams I went from a borderline WS player all the way down to the 300’s…It was like he tipped some invisible scale on my team that triggered an onslaught of RNG nightmares. I wrote to SDS and gave them all my info and simply told them I was not happy. If I am paying money for a product to upgrade my team then I expect it to actually help my team. I told them to look at my spending year after year - That goes away at this very moment. They wrote back saying they were sorry the game wasn’t performing how I’d like & they’re working on making it a better experience…Basic BS you get. Well I in fact did stop spending money & haven’t spent a dime in 2 months & never will again. Been doing the programs but not worrying about collections or chase cards, ect….Just casually playing when there’s a new program or conquest map, A game or two of ranked and then I play Madden & COD equally with The Show…I also just quit visiting this forum. The combination of all this has actually made my experience playing The Show much better. Not giving a [censored] & just playing ball is the way to go. And going forward this is how I will play all future interations of The Show.
