Which game did collections best?
-
I like a good grind and prefer to earn cards instead of stub buy them, so its 2023 easily for me, though I may be the only vote for it
-
I think this year is better because I like the lots of little collections feeding into the one big collection. Before, there were three rewards per season, but now there are about 4-5 in the same amount of time that usually arent too expensive

The big difference is collections were all earned through gameplay (no stubs spent) in the 23/24 model, and there are very little sub rewards (You could argue [censored] Allen and Wagner are subrewards, but no packs)

In those years you also have cards attached to Events and BR.

Last year I was able to complete all the set collections as an offline nms player and this year I only have been able to do judge one

You actually had to spend more stubs to complete the set collections, but those were spread over a longer period of time. You could get to one boss by the end of the season without spending stubs, but if you wanted to complete it, most of the cards you had to buy were 10-20k, while most of the cards you have to buy for New Threads, for example, are below 10k stubs. I think I only had to buy 2 or 3 cards over 10k stubs to complete it. -
Pulling up last years game to check
Season 2, 250 cards needed cardsProgram cards: 105 (including packs)
Conquest: 11 cards, maybe more
Mini Season: 3 Cards
TA: 90 Cards
Collections: 19 (including the first 2 bosses and packs from All Star one, as they were choice you could guarantee non dupes)
XP Path: 14 cards
Cornerstone: 4 cards
Future Series: 8 cardsTotal Offline cards: 254/250
Not to mention 36 BR Henchman, and all the event cards
-
I didn’t care that the cards “expired” because they came back at the end. I found myself earning all the divisions within a few days in 2023 and 2024. I got bored going back to this format after inning 3 at 12% with my team and 0% with every other team. I pretty much just play franchise now.

Just in case Season 2 was a fluke, season 1 was the pack heavy season last year. Roughly 310/325 offline only, including all the packs in the recap track (again, these were choice so you could guarantee no dupes). I'm probably short a bunch, but you may have needed some BR henchman in Season 1
-
Fun fact: Spotlight programs had 5 cards last year. But 5 is too many! Better cut it to three!
-
23 Easily, 24 a close second, 25 - "go get it out of the ocean" but just leave it there

Some people you just can't please.
Sets and Seasons: I hate grinding for cards that expire and everyone has the same lineups.
Power Creep: I hate grinding for cards that are lower rated than the ones that are in packs.
They can't give out ALL of the best cards for free (Grind 99) or people would complain there is no lineup diversity.
