Foul Ball Rate

    The number of foul balls in this game is just out of hand. So much so that I decided to actually track them over a 50 game period. The rate for the CPU was 35.8% over those 50 games. I looked up real game data and latest I could locate was the rate was 17% in 2022.

    I use manager mode also. I sim regular season and manage playoff games. In the playoff games, I don’t notice high foul ball rates. The most I notice is any count that goes 3-1 always goes to 3-2 because the batter always fouls off the pitch.

    I meant using manage mode.

    I haven't done any detailed numbers crunching but it is a fact balls down each foul line that used to land fair now curve foul and it's been that way for several year.

    What I have noticed in manage mode is pitchers with a low K/9 number tend to have high pitch counts because batters foul off a lot of pitches but as I said I haven't kept track of it. Unfortunately I can't help. Haven't kept detailed records.
