Why Does Diamond Dynasty get all the Love
-
@yankblan_PSN The $99 I spent at release should, but obviously doesn’t.
-
Exactly. They literally added torpedo bats and it’s not even available in Rtts. These online game modes is ruining rtts
-
@Ktothemarvel_PSN Are you not able to equip the torpedo bat in RTTS? You should be able to equip them just like any other bat skin.
-
The torpedo bats are available, they’re just hard as hell to get. I actually pulled one, tried it and sold it for 30,000 stubs.

I’m just curious as to why Diamond Dynasty gets all the love and RTTS gets leftovers? I’ve been diehard RTTS for years and I truly love playing but it’s irritating that all this content pops up on this app and the vast majority is never RTTS. They get all the XP bonuses, most things (equipment ex. Sliding mitts) get put in DD first and eventually funnel down to RTTS. I’m not hating on DD players but I do take issue with SDS treating RTTS like a stepchild.
Put yourself in the shoes of people who like Custom Stadiums, uniforms, and logos! Overall, I agree with you, but in comparison to those three game modes, RTTS was lavished with TLC for MLB The Show 25, and I must say that I greatly enjoy how it plays regarding development of your avatar player's overall attribute levels compared to how it was done in previous years' releases.

With the exception of outfield just straight up not working, a good 60% of the perks not working, manager meetings non-existent after the first year, terrible application of the points system (100 points for a win as SP, but you don't get the points for the win unless you play the full 9 innings, for example), etc etc etc
More things are broken in the new RTTS than are working, but I will agree that the idea of it is much better than it was before.
Basically- 'lavished with TLC' is a gigantic overstatement.

@GreenEydBndt_XBL I would look at the profile page of most online players in this game and it shows how many more months, days, hours, minutes, and seconds that they play Diamond Dynasty over every other mode in this game. Of course, they're (SDS) going to put their research, development, and money in a mode that most people watch and/or play, and makes them more money. In addition, some people put real money to get the best baseball legends' cards (Sometimes tens of thousands of dollars) and both SDS and Sony make a profit off that as well. By the way, I like Road to the Show and wish it would be more interactive like Madden, the NBA, and the NHL are, and like it was in the past, but of course it would require more people to play it, and the games' bugs in all modes to be fixed. Finally, thanks for your comments. That was a great post!

@xsdert34_PSN Thanks, I guess we all kinda favor the mode we enjoy the most and hope that the developers feel the same way. We tend to forget at times that it’s fun for us but business for them (not a knock on SDS). You put the money and time where the profitability is highest. I don’t have to like it but I do have to understand it. I can’t fathom spending that kind of money, but I can see why that’s where the focus is because of it. Thanks for helping me to think a little differently.

Do you know how much time is recorded for my play of MLB The Show over the years? I already know the answer -- a firm no, you do not.
The point being, what you actually know isn't the full story. This is exactly how corporations so often misread the room and end up making decisions that lead to their demise. They spend money to market research, but in reading those results, they receive a heavily skewed understanding, where the public voices do all the talking and the private voices are allowed no voice they listen to.
There is a valuable lesson to be learned there.

Are you kidding? RTTS was greatly enhanced this year and I’m having the most fun I’ve ever had in years with it!!!!

In fairness, the method by which avatar players upgrade their attribute levels was upgraded and made significantly better and more realistic compared to previous years' methods. Past that, RTTS did not receive significant upgrades. But, I do agree that this one upgrade was enough to renew my joy of playing RTTS such that I have not touched Franchise -- because my motivation in past years to start Franchise careers was merely to achieve a more direct method to upgrade my avatar player. However, the option in Franchise was not a case of earning it through on-the-field play. So, again, that is where MLB 25's method in RTTS has been very well done.
But, SDS has torpedoed all that goodwill fairly earned by going another full year (now five and counting) without any upgrades of note to Stadium Creator, Uniform Creator, or Logo Creator -- the only three modes that allow customer customization.
And upgrades to those three modes are so easy to achieve in comparison to what is done year after year within DD mode, many of those changes going without widespread acclaim within the DD segment of the customer base.
