SDS The New Diamond Quest you just inserted with the Two Ballin Pack Rewards and the Two Deluxe Prime Packs. There is absolutely no way in Hell I am grinding out that program not knowing what the rewards are in those two packs. Just saying if they aren’t the 95 Terry Pendleton and the 95 Jason Veritek there is absolutely no reason to even play that program for the other prime [censored] players. I’m a little to old for surprise packs just make it known who the players are in the Deluxe Packs.

SDS, whatever you do dont let posts like this discourage you from making a conquest that is repeatable for deluxe packs as the game desperately needs that.

Some, if not most, of us just dont like DQ so stop putting repeatables almost exclusively to this mode

@Teak2112_MLBTS I second the need for repeatable Conquest maps. I know we have the Magic 3 map or whatever it is called, and I do it daily, but let's be honest 5 Show packs isn't really moving the needle all that much, considering what is usually pulled in those packs.

I just don't understand the obsession with Showdown that SDS currently has. They have effectively locked those of us that don't like/can't play Showdown out of all the major Collection Rewards this year, because the Rolen card requires that you be able to do either the Spring Breakout of the Negros Leagues one. I can't seem to do either of them, so I don't have Rolen or Williams, despite having every single other program 100% complete this year and the Live Series done, due to a lucky Ohtani pull from a Headliners pack. It is very demoralizing.

If you played the game in any years before this you would know that there used to be many more showdowns than there currently are. If you dont want to play showdown, then accept the fact that you wont get the cards from it. Its unresonable to say that because i dont like a mode their should never be any reason to play it. I dont like mini seasons but i accept there are cards locked behind there and i have to play it to get them

@Talkingben9558_XBL So it seems reasonable to you to lock the major collection rewards behind one mode of gameplay, when the company's advertising slogan is to play the game the way that you want. Now I couldn't care less about the Rolen or Williams cards, as there are far better options out there now than those two cards, despite the 99 OVR on both, but the fact that I already know that I can't get any subsequent collection rewards sucks.

Its also locked behind mini seasons. If you can manage to beat a mini season you will be able to beat a showdown easily

@Talkingben9558_XBL Well that hasn't been my experience to-date!! I play Mini Seasons on Rookie, just to get it over with as fast as possible and I have always won the Championship. It is a LONG grind to do a Mini Season, but I will do it for the rewards.

I am aware that the inability to do Showdown is a "me" problem. I have tried the Negro League one probably 10+ times. I always beat the first 3 and then lose, which means I have to face Donaldson needing 12+ runs. I actually got close once, but still fell 2 runs short. I am pretty sure that my old-man reflexes (59 years old) are contributing to part of the issue. This needs to be like Tech Support at work, where someone can remotely log into my PS5 and finish for me!!

That is certainly one way of looking at it. But, I think you missed the major point being made in the OP. How many sporting contests operate on the notion that the brass ring is secret, or unpredictable? I mean, when teams suit up and compete they know what the awards are for winning the contest.

Imagine MLB adopting a new system where winning the final game of the World Series means you get to spin a wheel to see what your reward will be? How many teams would be in favor of that concept? I mean the answer is so obvious that the question itself becomes laughable.

In television, there came about the concept of a show "jumping the shark." It's origin was an episode of Happy Days where the plotline was Fonzie being dared to conduct a jump ski stunt over an open shark tank. It was at the time considered stupid, just utterly over the top and revealing that the show's writers had run out of good ideas but felt they had to keep doubling down on new drama.

This is the mistake SDS is making. They are trying to ratchet up the drama value. The grind itself is no longer the sole measure of drama, whether you can succeed or not. Instead, if you succeed in the grind, then the real drama begins, to find out what you've won!

My conclusion is that regardless of the alleged value of the card, the rewards are still virtual and therefore quite insignificant. I get it that thousands of people disagree and that's cool. But, I really cannot imagine many people wanting to invest a great amount of time into some contest only to win it and then earn something that's far less than what they counted on.

Making a mode not have any good rewards renders it useless. SDS has already made showdown almost useless this year.

@Cory-Seager_XBL For most of us, the rewards in those 2 packs are 5k base cards. You are better off doing one of the older ones and getting a guaranteed what 15k. Might want to do it before SDS finds a way to nerf that too.

@Teak2112_MLBTS A good repeatable conquest or mini seasons is needed badly. Not a mini seasons where you need 300 hits for a 10 pack.

Throwing my vote in for another repeatable conquest.
With the USA map at least you could change which direction to head in to keep it from being too tedious. Head East first on one playthrough. Head south on another, etc.
With the small 3 map it gets stale very quick.

Fair enough. I thought perhaps we disagreed on that point, but with this reply, it seems we are in agreement after all.

    Cheers!

When you car doesn't work like it should, do you get it fixed, or do you send it to the scrap heap?

This notion of yours is pretty ridiculous on the face of it. If the game isn't making customers happy, they have every option and right to make professional complaints about it. Perhaps, one day, you may come to understand and appreciate that reality.

@PriorFir4383355_XBL Yes, let's compare two completely separate circumstances as if they're the same. That makes your argument all the more valid.

The similarity is quite obvious, but I guess you had to find a way to disagree without really having a logical avenue to disagree. Folks paid their money for this game and they want it to function in a way that brings them happiness. Why do you think this forum exists in the first place? It exists primarily to give customers a means to communicate feedback.

Now, it's quite obvious that SDS is continuing their decades long streak of doing a rather pathetic job of listening to customer feedback and making changes to implement the merits of those concerns. But, folks still have the right to air those concerns, and in this case, I think the OP has a very legitimate concern.

It’s just a dismissive, selfish, canned response from all the SDS tribalists. It’s pure denial plain and simple.
