This ain't baseball, and SDS needs to fix it. People are scoring from second on bunts, the second baseman always throws underhand to first, and don't even press O if the first baseman fields the bunt — he'll throw it to the pitcher, who's further from the base, instead of tagging it himself. The first baseman also misses tags when fielding near the bag. I had to play the whole game with the infield-in shift instead of the drag bunt shift. That guy scored like 5 runs without even hitting the ball to the outfield before I finally figured out something that kinda helps — but even that doesn't always work. He was a real expert at pulling off that nonsense. I wonder what's the fun playing like that 🤣🤡

@datdudereyo_PSN, I feel like a fraud giving advice with my ranked record, but I came upon the advice from someone’s post a couple of years ago to play those types of guys with your 1B, 2B, and 3B moved in, leaving SS at normal depth.

I’ve done it since against bunt heavy teams (or people who do nothing but bunt with guys like PCA), and it works pretty well. Your fielders are in a better position to make plays on the ridiculously bunted balls, so aren’t as affected by weird animations. But do run to 1st yourself with the stick without giving the button command.

And I think you’re right; bunting should not baffle a defense like that.

@The_Joneser_PSN Thank you my friend. I used to play this game a lot back in the day MLB The Show 16, to be specific and I even ranked among the top 5 players in the world. I had to step away from competitive play due to parental responsibilities and have only played occasionally since 2021.

Now that I’m back, I’ve noticed that some of the animations are still the same as they were back then—especially when it comes to bunting, where the issues feel even more noticeable. I will say, I did notice that the animation for the shortstop has been improved (he used to take forever to throw the ball), but the second baseman still throws underhand to first, which slows down the play a lot.

I truly believe this game can be even better than it already is, and that’s why I wanted to share this feedback. I’ll definitely try the advice you shared, and thank you again.
