So I’ve noticed that if I’m playing someone that’s laggy I can’t get any pop on my hits all while the person whom wouldn’t accept my friendly and apologized for lag claiming they were downloading a bunch of stuff bloops hit after hit. I’ve noticed now the person causing the lag can still get a louder bat sound when hitting the ball. However, when I square anything up it sounds like a dink and exit velo is severely decreased no matter how well the feedback shows. How is this allowed and how is this not being talked about more ? I’m rated 850-900 right now with 2 losses. Both losses coming from someone ranked well below me with very bad connection. It’s very frustrating. Also my defensive errors seem to increase as well in these games. The only balls that will leave coors field have to be perfect perfect even with some of the stronger hitters in the game. Otherwise singles are mostly the outcome. I also noticed very big variation in pitch speeds coming from the player creating the lag as if one second a sinker is 91mph then the next it’s 78.

Lag compensation will always favor the poorest connection. These guys playing on the basement on WiFi, while their router is in the living room always have an advantage over you. The game will slow you down to wait for their info to reach the servers, this is why you see the game freezing for a second on contact, it’s waiting for their information to reach the servers.

For them the game runs very smooth, for you it’s a big lag/input delay fest. Demise was right all this time but the forum chose to bully him instead of acknowledging there is an issue.

@iBonafideScrub__PSN no, he was bullied because he wrote essays about it every other day. When it’s bad I just take the L and quit. I’d rather have a smooth game than going through the aggravation.

Well, he was spot on with the network issues.

@iBonafideScrub__PSN yeah but it isn’t exclusive to The Show; online gaming with WiFi, mobile or DSL (is it still a thing?) will cause issues to other players if the games are hosted by peers. Also with hops from ISPs.

I still use my 2400 baud dial-up modem. No issues with lagging for me, I don't know about my opponents though. I'm still trying to figure out why I cannot download Netscape Navigator on the PS5.

@iBonafideScrub__PSN I got some money, so I spent the big bucks on a second phone line installed. So, I have a dedicated phone line just for my modem and internet access on the Apple IIe and one line for people to call on!

What's a phone line? Is that people waiting to buy the new iPhone?

@iBonafideScrub__PSN or the people crying that their mobile hotspot isn’t allowed anymore. People have been abusing it for years. I’ll be honest PlayStation network is really subpar and it’s probably 50% of the problem.

It’s because SDS uses p2p servers for a competitive multiplayer game in 2025.

Sad but until they change to dedicated servers like almost every other game out there in this and age, having the better connection is a disadvantage in this game.

    It’s ridiculous.
