The part of RNG that nobody talks about
-
It blows my mind how we're not talking more about gameplay this year and how hitting online is an RNG-fueled nightmare, but recently it's felt like something was even more off. I made WS last ranked season and got to 700 pretty quickly this season. Then apparently I woke up one morning and just forgot how to play because I've now lost 5 RS games in a row. But something felt off so I went and looked at the box scores and in those last 5 games that I've lost:
- I've outhit my opponent 59-52
- I've struck out almost half as much (23 Ks compared to their 40)
- However...out of my 59 hits, 20 were XBH and 8 were HRs
- Out of my opponents 52 hits, 32 were XBH and 19 were HRs
So, 34% of my hits went for extra bases and 13.5% went for HRs. But 61.5% of my opponents hits went for extra bases and 36.5% went for HRs.
I understand there will always be a sense of "randomness" to the game because it's baseball and that's how it works. But 5 games in a row of this is insane. And it makes it super hard to compete when you're trying to string together a bunch of singles to score runs and your opponent can just come up, strike out twice as often, and then just hit a bunch of random HRs and win.

Agreed.. I feel like the game already has the winner picked before game even starts and if it’s you, you can tell and unless you perfect perfect everything the balls you square up just don’t have the exit velocity to do anything

I guess nobody has heard of slumps.

The only RNG I hate is losing the stadium game on goat, from some just late bleed hit when you’ve lined out 75 and just wasted an hour for no rewards.

Why are you playing on GOAT? The highest I've played is All-Star and I've received every Rare and Epic reward that was available in that DQ.

@x-814-x-MAFIA-x_PSN you’re pretty lucky so far; been 2/2 twice and the other 4-5 I did was 1/2 and once 0/2

Or people playing on WiFi, Internet stability, matchmaking, latency, adjusting to your opponents, etc

RNG is more prevalent then ever in ALL DD modes. I've seen players foul off 15 pitches in 1 at bat in 0-2 counts and pitches not even remotely close just to get a very early HR or a very late jam double the opposite way. I've seen and had my perfect hits be 100+ line outs with 100+ power hitters and then watched a 87 moh very early be a no doubt shot. The hitting engine is horrible this year. Then add i. The still prevalent PCI shrinking on sliders low and away or change ups just because SDS can't fix the code in the game without breaking it like last year.

I find it interesting that none of the top players have this point of view. It’s always the mid or below level player. Very interesting

@Tylerslikewhoa_XBL actually they have all said it there tool. Apparently you just don't pay attention. They've all said pci shrinking is a bs excuse just because SDS can't fix it. They've all pointed out that the bs random rng on perfects abd goods is broken. One time a good squared is 100 exit velo on a 99 mph pitch. Same hitter same swing same pitch next time is 85. It's because they can't code it. So next time do research before you open your mouth.

@xIAmJumpMan23x_PSN Sounds like your opponents are better pitchers than you.

We only have a few months until CFB, madden, GTA, and games that are much better and have more people playing them. It’s really sad how far off mlb the show has fallen over the last few years.
