Is there a real reason to go to college?

If I already have diamond equipment and don't care about being 1st overall pick, is there really a reason to go to college? Like is there any bonus to getting picked 1st overall, or is it just for clout? It seems I can spend 4 years playing in the minors and get a lot more tokens than I would by going to college.

I liked getting the extra coins before starting the professional career and it didn't take long to go through it.

Nope, there’s no real benefit. It actually slows your progression to the MLB. A lot of us just like it because it’s fun. You won’t really benefit from it, the equipment is at best gold and as you stated, you’ll get more tokens in the minors. -
@GreenEydBndt_XBL I don't think going to college slows progression to MLB. I did the college, and the professional season still started in 2025. I got promoted to AAA a month into the season, and still got called up to MLB before the ASG break. I also still won the ROY award in 2025. So, I think that proves one doesn't get a slower progression to MLB just because they went to college.

Not any more. Most Americans cannot even read and write at a sixth grade level. Education is for losers and suckers.

If you don't care about being #1 overall...I would say no...but, I went twice and went to MLB once and not college and I kind of missed the new content. The game play is identical to 24 so, and f you don't go to college you're kind of missing any "new" content. I also preferred the skill points and perks prior to going to the minors. I will continue to choose college on any other toons I create as this is really the only new thing to do... Enjoy.

I got promoted from AA-AAA in one month and to the majors a month after that...so by June and again... everything is exactly the same there are no new barriers or pathways to promotion. Game situations and specific results and opportunities are directly tied to your points in a given skill and stats matter so, the additional 35 skill points right off the bat is really nice...I went with Cal State and TCU every time.... exposure seems completely irrelevant but, skill development is really a chunk of points and a free perk for 2 way player...you get your choice of 1 out of 3 offered... generally from my experience..if you simply go to college you will be the #1 pick...every time.

So, correct me if I'm wrong, the benefit of not going to college is starting the MLB career at 18 as opposed to 22 thus possibly prolonging one's career before attributes start to degrade.

That's how I see it...age is the difference...you'll get 2x xp for 10 games if you go to MLB ...or you'll get development points 20-35, a perk...maybe and a gear piece that's worth pretty much zero. Ask me...this is basically equal benefits so, the difference is mostly 18 or 22...plus whatever your evaluation of the new content might be... otherwise it's all the same

You still get drafted in 2025, and what I found is that my draft slot went way up due to the combination of high school (three games total), college, and the combine. In return for these relatively few games, you get an equipment pack, significant attribute upgrade, and a significantly better overall attribute level.
You do not get more tokens in the same number of games played than you do by playing those relative few games in high school and college.

That might be the only negative, but in playing my fifth season I have so far seen no degradation in attributes. Stuff that I worked to get to 99 in my first season has remained at 99.

@PriorFir4383355_XBL Well, at that point, you're only .. what, 25 or 26? I imagine your stats don't start to degrade until you get into your thirties.
