I went with boss card incase their price goes up once 1st inning ends. I’m hopeful LS diamonds, eapecially in this price range, will drop in price thanks to Weekend Classic and all the packs being pulled.

Will the headstart help though? Unless you're having trouble finishing the xp path, I don't think it's necessary.
I'm always in a race to be first, but this time of year, with so many people playing, it's impossible to be first.
So I'm taking it more slowly (but still fast!) this time around.

Just barely finished it and plus I got the 3rd boss before it went over 20k stubs probably around 12-13k stubs when I bought it

Hmmm I might consider that. This inning I bought Manny earlier than getting it free in the xp path. But then I sold the other 2.
Manny is already locked in and I recently bought McGwire cheap. I surprisingly am doing well with him. So maybe I will lock all 3.
