I solely play the game for RTTS… this new update leaves me without the means to get equipment or make sufficient Stubbs…. Very poorly thought out change.

I feel the same way and for the same reasons. I don't see the motivation behind this.

Great way to motivate people to stop playing.

@Ultimo-Nivel_PSN They took this out because people were abusing it for stubs. By using custom rosters in RTTS and not autosaving you could play an awful custom team. Get the packs. Quit out of RTTS. Load back in and do it again.

And of course SDS can't lose money like this because they were outsmarted. 🙂

What exactly did they remove? I'm not really sure what y'all are talking about.

@EmberBurnsAll13_PSN In RTTS during games there are sometimes "Boss Challenges" which if you were successful you got an equipment pack with I think 4 items.

People were farming these so they removed it.

Should make the game where you have to Earn your equipment every time you restart your progress on Road To The Show. That way we are unable to restart with the advantages of the Equipment upon unlocking our 1st perk. Keeps it interesting if you have to earn everything you use, not earn it once then use it on brand new playthrough.

@EmberBurnsAll13_PSN ya, you'd prefer they just be honest about it instead of removing it and not telling anyone. But I saw a youtube video that that's how people were exploiting it since the market sucks this year.

It really wasn't being abused that much. My understanding is the change they made previously drastically lowered the odds of getting diamond equipment from the equipment packs. DD players aren't going to spend hours farming on the off chance of getting a decent diamond equipment pull so this change really only punished the RTTS players.

Now, before they patched it the first time then yeah, people were abusing it for stubs.

And frankly, they economy wasn't being hurt (no drastic swings in prices across the board) such that they needed to penalize RTTS players.

I think SDS forgets who funds this game: the RTTS players.

@aaronjw76_MLBTS I would love to see data that backs up RTTS players being who funds this game. No offense but the idea of that is laughable to me. There are more Franchise players that RTTS players. DD is the cash cow and that's not changing anytime soon.

Every single year I flip my way to millions and millions of stubs (less so this year but still doing well withLS and new threads collection done) on equipment alone. With RTTS being divorced from DD what possible explanation can there be for that kind of equipment volume unless you subscribe to the idea that SDS buys cards in the market?

I amend my statement to say franchise as well. I do not believe DD the most played aspect of this game. I have no hard data from SDS to support that, just my observations based on the equipment market which has had zero connection to DD these past 2 years.

Hell, last year I came back in November or something and was still able to flip equipment. The pace slowed but buy and sell orders were still going through.

My original point stands: the market economy was not being hurt in any such way that it needed to implement this most recent change which punishes RTTS players the most.

For the record, I am not an RTTS or franchise player lol

@aaronjw76_MLBTS Icons flip for a lot too. as do stadium sounds. Its due to supply and demand. Not number of players. Not to mention I do very much believe the market is influenced by outside sources.

This is the thinnest of lines to try and prove RTTS is the most popular mode. If it was then they would talk about it alot more. The reason every stream is about DD is because that's what makes them the money so that's what they market.

You can get equipment for free through packages sent every so often (I think it's like 10 games for a SP), so you can still get equipment for free...you might not like it or it might not be as much as you like, but you can get equipment still by just playing RTTS.
