Is this option no longer active on a PS5?

Just played a good game against a superior opponent and wanted to msg him 'GG'.

But the name that is current under my Recently Played tad on the console is someone that I never played.

I tried searching by his PSN ID. But even though I can pull him up in the Standing tab in the game; his PSN ID doesn't come up.

There may be a way to check in your PS5 home screen area. Where you see your PSN friend list, there should be a recently played there. I don't play online, but I think PS4 had something like that.
