attributes exceeding 99

In the vault I've seen several rosters containing players with values exceeding 99 or ages that were either less than 18 or older than 45 years old.
I am wondering how one might be able to make such changes by oneself.
Concerning this subject to a lesser degree these aforementioned rosters also contained known current players featuring secondary positions impossible (i.e. 1B/2B/3B/LF/RF) by the position sets one can set (i.e. 2B/3B/SS).
Obviously, there must be some way to edit players beyond the standard tools available to every user in the roster management tab (i.e. editing an existing player with unique secondary positions and then changing their name/appearance...)
Is anyone in a position to enlighten me on how these things may be done?

Different situations in different game modes. In Franchise, 99 is the hard cap of the individual attributes. In RTTS, the influence of equipment and training can achieve higher individual attribute levels than 99. I have seen individual attributes rise to as high as 107, if the person chooses to dedicate equipment to that individual attribute.
One of unique aspects of Franchise is how one can individually tailor attribute levels at will for any and all players, by using the Roster, Edit Player, Edit Attributes menu option. Within Franchise player edit options is the ability to directly change the primary as well as secondary positions. Primary position is singular. Secondary position(s) can be either singular or multiple. Within the secondary position options is the ability to select all infield or all outfield positions. There are also options to combine certain infield and outfield options.

@PriorFir4383355_XBL I was of that very same opinion regarding both 99 being a hard cap and secondary positions being limited to the combinations intended in the game itself. However, I have come across rosters defying both logics. What eludes me though, is the understanding of how that may be achieved.
