Fair enough. Seems like they did to make him a useable pitcher otherwise he’s really easy hit as the main collection. He threw pretty hard for his time though considering most pitchers topped out in the high 80s.

Pedro probably got 97-98, but not 102-103.

The issue isn't as much about throwing 103 as it is the unadjusted offspeed velocities that create the unrealistic 20+mph speed differentials and the 90+ control ratings on most/all pitches that give them similar command to lower velocity pitchers e.g. Greg Maddux.

But people are still smacking 700+ batting averages and going 100-0 records. It's not the fastballs.

@virusts_XBL so you are saying on one hand make the experience realistic but fake other [censored] , i think ruths FB pitch speed was in the 80's , they didnt just stretch reality , they rewrote history

I’d rather every pitcher throw 100 and be usable than the alternative of only like 8 pitchers being usable lol

I have a novel concept… how how about rebuilding the nearly 15 year old hitting and pitching model they use and rebuild it so you can actually use a 90 mph twirler like Maddux and have his movement and accuracy create outs.

The problem is on All-Star (the vast majority of players) there is simply no way to get outs without forever increasing the velocities and accuracy to reliably jam players inside. This is truly the only semi-reliable way for consistent outs. To correspond with this, they dramatically decrease the vision on players to reduce their timing windows making it harder to catch up. Unfortunately, this is their only means of balance to get outs and keep games moving at the lower levels.

It is frustrating for multiple reasons but mostly because it makes you have to use fastball pitchers and for most players there is no counter to it because they lack the physical capability to react fast enough. It is that simple and SDS knows it. It is not going to change because SDS does not want to invest in an overhaul of their system.

@MCLMM9_XBL you can rebuild the hitting engine all you want, you’re still not getting 90mph by me lol

@MCLMM9_XBL you nailed it , the issue is they basically tried to lump all the skill levels into one box , so one attribute affects all levels , so in turn all skill levels suffer in some way

they should have seperate game characteristics for each skill level, if you want to play on HOF then you should deal with HOF attributes , and your rewards should reflect that , you should have better cards available to you as rewards for the added difficulty

but i dont want to play HOF , i work all day installing cabinets , come home and do farm chores , by the time i get cleaned up and ready to take a breath i have a limited amount of time , and its not always spent on a video game , although i try to get some time in everyday , some days if i have no install and its raining i have all day , but i do not want to waste my time playing 5 innings to score a run , i want to have fun smacking the ball around , thats my choice and my rewards should reflect that

but my hitting is skewed up so they can find a balance with the higher levels
