For TA 3 grinding, I’ve run with both Orioles captains, both Braves captains, and now using Frank Thomas (A’s captain). These make the grind go SIGNIFICANTLY faster! Especially for the 100 TB requirement.
Didn’t have any AL/NL central captains and those took much longer to get thru.
As mentioned above, wish there was a way to get more of them. That A’s squad with just the Thomas boost is pretty darn good.
The Reds and Guardians boosts were crazy for this seasons TA grind. I have a pair of Captains for each division except the NL West.

For the NL West, I have the Diamondback duo, but won’t use them. Gonna do a Padres theme team to get to 100 TB and knockout the 50 hits for Tony Gwynn program. Wish I had the Padres captain duo!

@capardo_XBL I’m using the Padres duo with Gwynn, Salas, Tatis, Profar and Cease. It makes Gwynn usable with +15 power to both sides. Filling in the rest of the team with guys that don’t need a boost.

The meta seems to be Big Papi + Verlander combo
A lot of people use Corbin Carroll too but I don’t know if the mix it with Verlander or Kershaw

I've held onto these team captain packs long enough, time to put them to use. I have 4 total with 2 hitter and 2 pitcher. Who shall they be?

It’s disappointing they don’t offer these packs more easily and frequently to earn and the season captains u get one at the beginning that’s it and the season pack u must buy

@nymets1987_PSN I actually like the way they’ve done the cornerstone captains and the better captains later in packs, but they’ve completely fumbled the team captains. Not only are most of them unplayable, you can’t even get them. I’d be perfectly happy with them in packs. At least then we could get them.

Let us earn the other captain packs as well but yes the teams packs are an absolute joke how sparse they are and 87s?

100% agree. This is bs as when you stack both a hitting and pitching captain together it can make for a fun team build and they have chosen to leave 90% of them unattainable to this point. SDS clearly is pushing theme teams and captain boosts yet they refuse to release these. Truly shows the huge disconnect that exists this year and makes absolutely zero sense. Do they even play their own game?

They probably will put more of those in Xp chain at season changeover or free at store can’t remember

At what point can you remove the captain but still receive the boost? Was it after 6?

I like captains, I like the idea of captains, I don't think it's in the best place right now though, and I only use Hoffman buffs for my pitchers as that's the only one I see any value out of. The rest of them are either too costly and time consuming to try and get. It's near impossible to get more theme team captains right now and there just nothing that boosts more than just using highest overall you can. At least from what I've seen. I have the Phillies theme team captains but the squad isn't that strong and doesn't really benefit you up against all the instances god squads out right now.
Captains just really needs work.
