Why is there a slot for baserunning gear when there’s no way to get baserunning gear in the game?

Because SDS likes playing with our emotions by giving us hope we’ll get slide mitts then destroying that hope by giving every other player them but us.

Yeah, I don't know but if I had to guess, a loadout set that might be more intended for a speedy baserunner might get it through the perk rewards system only as it tends to pull up skill set tasks and rewards screen when you click on the slot. I'm going to try a speed build on my next character to see if that skill set gets it as a reward in the item packs.

There is an RTTS rewards game imbedded in the situation, but from what I have seen of it, the criteria used to award points are not being properly credited.
