I like the reset. The line ups are constantly gonna shift. And I could be wrong…….but the end of this season, line ups will look different with the 4 wild cards. I could be wrong! Just trying to be optimistic!

We’re in the minority on this forum, but like the seasons model too. And, I especially like that I don’t feel like I have to go after every single card to complete collections anymore. I don’t miss grinding through an event to get a 92 overall 2nd half heroes card, just to complete a collection.
I will say starting over with theme teams, is not great. I have Twins and Giants builds that get decimated when the season resets, but I did get Royce Lewis and Jhoan Duran yesterday so, it’s a start.

It will grow on me - maybe. Too bad it's X2 weekend because I actually walked away from it yesterday to mow the grass. I got frustrated feeling like I just bought the game again. I think if I get into the mindset that it's a "new" game I'll be fine and want to play some. Plus in a month we'll have HR derby, all stars, draft cards, HOF cards, etc. and I like that content. Issue will be if I can make it until then and not pivot to NCAA which is extremely tempting.

Im with you. I actually wish the other sports games did something similar. Especially with live series cards.
But man, hitting needs to be heavily nerfed. I mean, I get the need to be more accessible and that scoring runs is fun... I guess

I also don't mind the seasons format because I get to use different cards each season

I like it. Season being longer helps. Also nice not having to face 99 overall pitchers throwing 100 on day 1

I think the haters on this topic don't play other sports ultimate team modes. Because if they did they would know this is the least pay to win model by far. The season long power creep is a nonstop pay to win carousel until the last months of a game. This model is much more consumer friendly.

I agree that this was a good move. If this was just another ranked seasons reset with new rewards I wouldn’t be that interested because I already felt like I had a team that I couldn’t make much better. Now I’m interested in the game again because I’m trying to rebuild my team.

Are we sure? I did not pay attention yesterday when I started the game but saw this on a stream yesterday. Looks like it will be January before they open it up to use any card.

Well then they need to clear things up. Having two official sources contradicting each other is not good.
For now I will, as usual, error on the side of being cynical and assume that there will be a season 4 since that splash screen is more recent than their dev blog. I do hope that I am wrong though for everyone's sake.

Wheres the contradiction? The graphic you posted has season 4 listed from November 22, 2024 until December 31, 2037. There is no season 5. Season 4 is a 13 year program.

But it also shows the limitation of S4 and Core cards. Why show that if all cards are eligible. Also why give it an end date? Shouldn't the last season be open for the duration of the game?

I will wager that SDS will take the 2024 servers down before 2037. That's my "lock of the year"!

I liked last year's model where there was an overlap between seasons
I dont really like using live series cards because they have a generic feel to me, so filling out a lineup now is rather limited. Core cards are a thing I know, but I tend to be resistant if I feel I am being forced/expected to do something.
I think it will be better after the programs next week when there is more choice (hopefully)
I don't mind the power drop, I'm not playing with 99s most of the time anyway.

Maybe. But it's not to those who don't have the time to offer. That's why the model works for SDS so well. Don't have the time to grind AGAIN for free?? Just buy the cards. And don't get me wrong, if you got the money that's pretty good but let's say you don't have time OR money OR desire to grind for reprints, then it sucks major a$$ hole.
They don't have alternate ranked modes for you to use your entire library that you worked for. It's pretty frustrating but I've learned to cope because I simply stopped playing by their sets and seasons model. They don't let you pick the whole team you want in co-op. They don't offer PxP to your co-op partners, only the host. They don't offer PxP for casual and the XP is more than cut in half. There are ZERO rewards for casual. And I don't play BR cause it's a sweaty [censored] show of bombs and people out of your league since there is no MMR for br.
There's a laundry list of issues outside of the scope you're seeing the sets and seasons in.It works only for those who have time to grind and those with money. That's fine, for those types of players.

I missed the 2037 part. But that still leaves the question about it showing only S4 and core cards

It’s January 2025 when you get to use all seasons again. The graphic is correct.
The 2037 part is to cause hesitation for those that said they’d wait to season 4 to play again. SDS tricks lol, Unreal.
