Calling pitches as a catcher
-
I just started a rtts as a catcher. I was annoyed when I found out I couldn’t call a game. The only time I’m on the field is to throw base runners out. I want to call a full game as a catcher. I think that would make it more fun and interesting if we’re able to call a full game.

This ranks as one of the worst flaws with the game. Not only can you not call the pitch, but you don't even get an indication what the pitch will be before it's thrown.
Now, I played catcher (as well as third base and left field), and I can tell you, it is not much different trying to catch an unknown pitch as it is to hit a pitch. Yes, the glove is bigger than the sweet spot of the bat, but not by much. Getting crossed up at a catcher is among the most dreaded things there is in baseball.
Yet, SDS's current game code means if you choose to play catcher in RTTS or Franchise, then you're getting crossed up on every single pitch! It's ludicrous! Moreover, it's an issue that was brought to SDS's attention years ago and still hasn't been fixed, and that's totally unacceptable.
Given the introduction of the communication system between catcher and pitcher, modeling the solution is just so easy. You can just have a message flash to the catcher what the pitch will be before the pitcher winds up. So simple. SDS really needs to get with it on this issue.

One other issue when I do get to call the pitch. The pitch is always wild and never a strike. I'm in my 2nd year and I do get to call pitches at least every game. It just never works out:) Usually a wild pitch in the dirt, a FASTBALL upper right, in the dirt???
