Batter Confidence/ New Online modes

    Online really needs this,

    Batter confidence system, a lot like pitcher confidence, it would be a way to reduce foul [censored], bad hits just wacky in general, the better your batter does the more confidence the batter has, making the pci bigger, if you are swinging at pitches in the dirt, just going up and Pressing X with 0 approach your confidence fotr that batter will go down throughout the game essentially making foul [censored] less of a factor.

    (I posted this on a thread but if we have pitcher confidence, batter confidence needs to be a thing)

    Along with a DD Post season Online mode like madden h2h, a big out cry from this community is that we've played the same modes for ten years, Ranked, BR and events. A weekend league and another online mode would do so much wonders.

    This is one of the first times that someone here has legitimately come up with an idea to adjust foul [censored] instead of just complaining about it constantly. There has probably been people who’ve come up with ideas but mostly are drowned out by the whiners and I’m quitting this game people. Really like this confidence idea. Thank you.

    @virusts it'd be a way of rewarding the better player, taking strikes, taking [censored], making adjustments, the past 2 years it's just been press x and get the pci near it. A system set in stone, for each better every game would beawesome, it'd effect exit velo on swings, timing windows, etc.

    I think this is a great idea, but sometimes I think an increase in foul [censored] could be intentional to address another issue in the name of "realism".

    The most accurate pitchers in MLB throw strikes about 70% of the time. I would guess that most folks here exceed that with every pitcher in the game. It's a by-product of introducing gamer skill into the equation.

    So, maybe more foul [censored] is a way to boost pitch counts so we don't have people on here complaining that they just threw a CG with 63 pitches and how is that realistic?

    The obvious counter would be to make it harder to throw strikes, but then the complaints would start that aiming is broken. I'd wager that if Nolan Ryan's Mets card threw as many [censored] for you as he actually did for the Mets, some folks would be bashing controllers. And I don't think anybody wants that, either.

    I think that any solution is going to have unintended consequences, it's just a question of what consequences folks are willing to live with.

    I like the idea of batter confidence, but it may not be easy from a programming point of view. Multiple batters would have to be tracked making the programming more complicated and leading to more issues

    I won't comment from on Online POV cause I don't play online all that much, but from an offliners perspective...I look at an increased amount of foul [censored] as being a difficulty thing...It should be harder to put away the CPU on higher difficulties so you should theoretically see more foul [censored] from them fighting off pitches. There's absolutely no reason for 8-10 pitch AB's going up against a bronze 61 scrub on Rookie. 1 or 2 every couple games...sure. Mookie Betts, whole other story but still shouldn't be that high on Rookie.

    Except the pitcher meter is one variable per team at a time. A batters would be nine additional per team.
