Card Show Pack "Luck" Is Getting Ludicrous
-
Okay, so I know how odds work. When they say 50:1 odds of getting a diamond card in a show pack, I realize that every pack has those odds, but it does not necessarily mean that if you open 50 packs, you're guaranteed 1 Diamond Card.
HOWEVER... in the last 260 show packs I have opened I have received a grand total of 1 Diamond Card. And that was a middling 87 Felix Bautista. That is ridiculous. So I know I could make the ungrounded argument that 260 packs should generate, on average, 5 Diamond Cards, even though I know that's not legit. But one?! And not even an expensive one like Ohtani, Trout, Seager, Alvarez, Betts, et. al.? That's BS.
The fact that I'm not getting any expensive cards (and my Headliners packs have been equally dismal) and that there's not a lot of way to earn mega stubs is really frustrating and needs to be fixed. Especially since, as has been rightly pointed out in other posts, so many cards this year are only available in purchased packs, it makes it extremely hard to get player cards this year.
So the fact that "card pack luck" has been so atrocious is just adding insult to injury. SDS needs to give us better cards in packs, period.
I refuse to buy stubs, and in years past that's never been a problem. This year it is and, combined with terrible pack cards, conforms to the money grubbing narrative that other players have complained about.
Fix it, SDS,

The problem with this is...I've been having better pack luck this year then ever before. Point being, as you said, that's just how odds work. I just had about 25 packs to open from mini seasons and pulled 2 diamonds. I've also pulled Ohtani, a couple chase pack players, a couple headliners. Sometimes you're lucky and sometimes you aren't.

I guess, and congrats. Those are some nice pulls. I'm just getting sick of opening pack after pack of nothing cards, with both Show Packs and Headliners. I occasionally get something decent in Ballin' packs. It's just depressing to know I'm probably not going to get any of the expensive cards and that I'm going to need around 500,000 stubs to complete the Live series at this point, and won't be able to buy anything else.

So i finished the Collection without spending money, and this was the latest in the game that it has taken me over the past 3 years. I agree with the OP the slow crawl, and the limiting of stubs, and diamonds is a joke. So you dont want players to play how they want. Because there is no reward. HOWEVER, if a player buys the stubs then he/she can truly buy everything they want and play how they want. I have no issue if someone buys stubs or they dont. i just finished for the first time the TA and the New Mini seasons with Feller. I purposely didnt open any packs, this was also during the double or quad xp last weekend. When it was all said and done 137 show packs 19 BIAH packs, 6 twitch packs, and 3 headliners packs...0 diamonds. I was at 46000 stubs going into it and finished with enough stubs to buy Yordon my last diamond needed for Babe and had 300ish stubs left over. This is not a job. I play because i want too. I have 3 kids who all play baseball so this time of year finding time to sit down and play without being rightfully interrupted is about 20 mins at a time if i'm lucky, or staying up too late when i have a job to be at in the AM. I'm not asking for free things, i'm not asking for things that players who put in way more time than myself have. I'm saying whatever SDS does to determine the diamond pulls, (for us its luck, for them its programming) Sooner or later players are just going to play something else, and with NCAA 25 on the horizon....it wont be hard to lose those Sports based players to that.

Pack luck is on the rise for me! I've pulled Ohtani and Seager in the past week. All is forgiven SDS.
Still won't spend a single stub on your crappy packs though lol
