Well it’s another year and another season of MLB The Show with the same problem ignored as usual.
In Franchise the player card system has limited players show in actual real photo cards. But as usual again if you play Diamond Dynasty, they have most all players photos associated with this team cards.
It’s irritating to see my Detroit Tigers, and every other team for that matter have a generic cartoon picture in Franchise, but in DD, they have most all the players real pictures on the card.
Why is this so hard to make them available in Franchise to use also. I enjoy seeing the team uniforms on our new acquisitions and up and coming rookies. To do that,I have to settle on playing DD, and then go back to Franchise which I have purchased and played since inception YEARS AGO.
Can someone please fix this issue this year, it would be a pleasant surprise to see the same player card photos available in both modes.

Preach! Red Sox missing top prospects, I’m sure tons of others players on other teams are missing and there’s always some guy here saying “they’re not on 40 man roster”, well in Franchise we expect top prospects, would be great if guys playing two years in the league have a picture or have the respect of saying their name instead of “number 47” for Enmanuel Valdez, but hey not like most of us spend over $90 to purchase game early for updated rosters with no improvement to the mode we play and then not even have updated rosters.

I know they don't use the LS 40-man rosters in Franchise because we're allowed to make changes to our rosters, but it would be nice if they used the LS cards in Franchise. That way, the cards would always be up to date on the player's current team, ratings, etc.
The question is, would the Franchise users be okay with not being able to nerf player's cards, and possibly not be able to make custom cards as a trade-off to having the LS cards.

It’s because your save file exists separately from the game itself. How would the real world make adjustments for transactions that will occur in your franchise that will not happen in the real world? In my MLB23 franchise Juan Soto was signed by the New York Mets. This never happened in the real life baseball world and the game cannot create a real Juan Soto as a Met card. Transactions will happen in your franchise that will not happen in the real 2024 season.

I have to respond twice here. Franchise uses live series cards now. You must have missed the rating reveal stream. They said this about a dozen times. I’m pretty sure I pointed this out to you but maybe it was someone else. Go look at both Mookie Betts cards on DD and his offline card. Same exact card except for the overall. The overall must get lowered because of the 125 cap levels for some hitting categories in DD.

They aren’t. The OVR is only different now because of the 125s they added. Before that they use to be exactly the same. Offline Freeman is 99/99 contact out of 99/99 but in DD he’s 99/99 out of 125/125 so he’s not maxed out. Just to pick an attribute I know off the top of my head.
Edit: you can’t intertwine these things. I just played game 20. Someone else might be on game 45. The season is about to be on game 3 for LA. If Muncy gets hurt for the season I don’t need to just have him removed.

Exactly. You know I have purchased a new copy of this game since it first debuted. And you would think they would listen to some of us that keep it going but maybe that’s the issue, they know we will keep buying, so why do anything new or take a players issue and work on it.
My brother and father were computer systems analysts, and my son does 3D computer work for gaming industry too. They told me it’s such an easy fix to address.
With a little coding work here and there Franchise could have all the PLAYER PHOTO CARDS that DIAMOND DYNASTY has.
I just played them again today, on Diamond and they have practically all player pic cards of my AAA & AA players, so WHY can’t I play with the same on FRANCHISE? It’s just a bit frustrating. I usually trade non picture carded players to other teams, because I love the player pics involved with it. That cartoonish made pic takes away from it for me.
Thanks for listening, at least someone listens and doesn’t turn off the player volume when a concern is brought to the forums.

If you’re talking about the scoreboard images. In DD the images are the CPU generated images for all the players. Franchise actually has the real images for the players while DD does not on the scoreboard. Both have the baseball cards when you press R2 if the player has a baseball card. If the player doesn’t have a card then they clearly cannot have one.

Actually I am talked about the roster cards, you know your team ones with the real photos. Diamond Dynasty has probably 90% of ALL players on the 40man and most all prospects too. I always go and buy them all when playing that mode and just shake my head wondering why we can’t have those in the rest of the modes. Same way in Road to October, same generates images instead of real picture cards.
I am hoping one of these yrs they will fix that SIMPLE adjustment. All I can do is keep the issue fresh I guess by posting a few times a year.
Developers never answer you when you ask them either.
