Mini Season Roster

My son is trying to play mini seasons on Switch and gets the following error: "Don't have enough eligible players for this challenge"
He's trying to do Classic Mini Season. He's tried restarting the season even though he hadn't played a game yet. What am I missing here? -
They will put ineligible players in your default lineup. You need to manage squad and make sure those guys aren't in there

I forget, who is ineligible in classic? For some reason I thought all cards worked there... Or is it just core cards? -
Everyone should be eligible in classic. But I'd still check. That's the only reason the not enough eligible players should pop up

@bri_25 does he have at least one card that can play each position? Can he fill his starting rotation, his bullpen and his bench?

He has a full roster. Though he chose a couple players who are in their secondary pos.
I've looked and don't see anything amiss other than he hasn't given himself a backup C on the bench but I don't think that would do it. He does have a full bench and bullpen though as well...
It's just really weird.
Any other thoughts are appreciated. He's really bummed it isn't working. -
Have the CPU generate a squad. Then edit it from there.
