@Shauwn
I totally get what you’re saying, and have often thought about this with my own hitting/pitching. Most of the time a lot of my own misses when hitting aren’t on the pitches dotted on the corners but kind of the weird in between spots that aren’t quite right on the corners but not down the middle either.
The problem is that I am 100% getting my opponents off balance and off time, as you said is the key to pitching on high difficulties, but that every “miss” my opponent has is a foul ball. They’ve mastered the timing window so that every swing they take that isn’t on time results in a harmless foul ball and they do this continually until they time one up.
During one at bat, if my opponent has taken 6+ swings with very early or very late swing timing have I not done my job keeping them off balance? In the current state of the game it doesn’t reward pitchers for this, it simply allows the opponent to foul it off until they do get the one pitch they can time up.

I don't play online; so take this reply with a grain of salt.
But if hitting is so broken; why does it ALWAYS favor the poster's opponents?
I mean wouldn't also eventually favor you? Or when it favors you, and because you're constantly a WS player and your opinion is valid, is that skill?
For something to be broken, other than you're playing, or has to happen to EVERYONE. Not just to you or your opponents.

I hear what you're saying, and trust me I concur 100%! There's not one SP in game right now I feel comfortable pitching in ranked for more than 2-3 innings. I do my best to exploit weaknesses and keep off balance. I pitch more to contact than trying to get the k.
I basically learn from my mistakes hitting, and where I'm weak at and use that against my opponent. I'm great against low, high inside outside. I'm weak at the In between spots bc when reacting on Legend is much harder to react and get that p/p. If my opponent p/p those spots it's bc he was looking there, rarely ever based on reacting unless they get lucky, which happens.The worst is when 40% of my pitches miss the spots I'm aiming for with perfect and good releases. Even if I'm off a quarter inch to a random meatball, I just laugh and smh. It gets frustrating, and I've screamed [censored] murder when I give up a p/p 500 foot moonshot on a pitch that wasn't supposed to go where it went.
This is SDS's way of saying, "well even pitchers like Maddux miss their spots." Ya but not in a competitive video game where I did everything perfectly. Now if I screw up and I know I messed up, I only have myself to be mad at. But when the game flucks me, that can get so annoying. -
@x814xmafia
Good job completely missing the point of my post.
It isn’t about the win-loss column, how good or how not good anyone is at the game, but how there are certain game mechanics that are being exploited to help players win.
I’m the first one to understand when my opponent puts up a good wing or I make a bad pitch, that’s on me.
Bad user input on my end and good user input on my opponents end equals a good result for my opponent, everything is working fine. My issue is the timing windows and the foul balls allowing players to put in bad input in 6 of 7 pitches during an at bat and not getting punished for it. If I take 6 bad swings during one at bat should I not be rewarded with an out? a bad outcome? The hitting mechanics and timing windows of the game are allowing players to almost compeltely neutralize any penalty for bad input, and that’s where I find issue.
Take your assumptions and go somewhere else please.

@VortexNukezz No, I’m with the other dude, so maybe I’m missing the point too. This definitely reads as “my opponent gets every break, and I get none”. Seems like it should break both ways every now and then, but you mention nothing about the times it works on your behalf.
Now, the one response I will say is this: turn off crossplay. I think I find cross platform games result in more timing wonkiness than non-cross platform games do.

People act like them slowing the power creep down and not letting everyone have 99s right away is changing the gameplay or something lol. Its really not. The online gameplay plays exactly how it does any other year. 75% of hits are home runs and foul balls are still broken af.

100 percent turn off crossplay if you are a competitive player, I turn it on sometimes for events only, because they truly don’t matter and I just want to get faster matchmaking.
But for Ranked and BR. PS5 to PS5 only.

Agreed. Too many foul balls.

@JDHalfrack
Even if you want to read it that way, I did note a .280 point difference in batting average on balls in play between myself and my opponent, so take that for whatever it’s worth.
Again, biggest issue is the timing windows. People don’t get punished enough for taking bad swings when they result in harmless foul balls 85% of the time. If your opponent has you off balance on nearly every swing during a 7-8 pitch at bat should you not get punished for taking bad swings?
This game does NOT play the same as previous versions.

@Nauracy34 Correct. The gray sphere is where the ball should go given a good release based on a pitchers control and energy. Yet, even with perfect releases, the RNG takes over and my ball goes wherever the RNG says it's going to go, which is usually into a perfect perfect on the other hitter. If you are a player that relies on pitching to win, you will not win this year.
They should rename the game, Slow Pitch Softball 24...
