Pitch Velos

Admittedly I've only played with Guardians players so far in DD but...
Shane Bieber 87-91 FB
Triston McKenzie 88-92 FB
Tanner Bibee 90-94 FB
Gavin Williams 90-94 FBBibee and Williams throw 97+
McKenzie is 93-97
Bieber has regained his velocity. Understand his nerfed velo though with the last two years. Is this a problem across the board?
-
Not sure where you got your numbers but according to Statcast.
McKenzie (4 seam)
2023 - 92.4
2022 - 92.5Bibee (4 seam)
2023 - 94.9Bieber (4 seam)
2023 - 91.3
2022 - 91.3Williams (4 seam)
2023 - 95.7 -
Those are averages. Not top velo. The top end velo in MLB the Show is the average Statcast.
-
Are you expecting them to throw their pitch at their average pitch speed or at the speed they hit once or twice per game all the time?
-
Maybe try shaving with Occam’s Razor OP
-
So they're just never supposed to throw above their average Statcast... Got it.
-
Think about it though really that explains it perfectly by the very definition of what an average actually is. This average would contain both his highest velocities and the lowest. The simplest answer makes sense. I’m not saying I agree or that I even like it but it DOES explain it that’s all.
-
I understand how averages work. But for those averages to make sense in the game, the higher velos should show up more than never
-
Perhaps they’re saving those for the third and fourth versions of the cards lol
-
Maybe they are using last year's numbers, statcast only gives them data once-usu around the all-star break
