Free agent money demands need to be way higher.

The team that works on franchise really needs to revamp the salary demands for free agents, not only because it lacks realism but also because franchise mode needs to be more difficult from a budgeting perspective. It’s already too easy to rob the AI on trades, so at least make it so I can’t go on a spending spree because guys like Alonso are fine with 10m a year, and an ace like Snell will settle for 15m. It’s wack.

Until we get a way to finagle our finances & budgets we'll never get FA asking for anywhere near the amount of money they deserve (either by attributes which I dislike or by performance). $40M isn't enough in an uncapped sport where a guy is making by AAV $46M (Ohtani) and Soto is going to ask for close to that in 2024.

It is very low up front but as I simmed through a couple of seasons, the demands go up quite a bit. Guys start getting paid $30-$40m contracts. Budgets go up to accommodate as well. My Giants budget hit $300m.
