Minimum Internet Connection

Probably like 10Mb down. But it doesnt matter if you have 10mb down or 1000mb. If you have an unstable connection it wont feel smooth. And if yours is great and you are playing someone else who has a wonky connection then it will also feel awful. As your connection will have to match theirs. That is when you get the pitch stopping on the way to the plate, and a pause after the batter makes contact ect.
Not even that according to Siri. Siri tells me console manufacturers recommend 3 Mbps download speed.

@eatyum
There is this misconception that wired is better
In my old house. I paid for an external hub. Good cables and my ping for games that I could see was 20-30 range
Now I live with a worse router. Two rooms away on WiFi and my ping is 8-12.

What is an acceptable PING?

When you ping, you need to go to the server you’ll be using. Then it will trace your route and return your ping. If you don’t, your only pinging to your ISP’s server.
The servers SDS (or more accurately, Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo) use are (if I remember correctly) Amazon’s (AWS). How you would find the server you’re using, I have no idea since they don’t publish the IP addresses (which is a smart security practice).
More than likely, opponents hit the server assigned to them and then the two servers talk to each other. AWS has servers around the world and I’ve noticed (through my very limited online play) that players I’ve been matched with have team names that are more or less local to me (yes, I know, some players use team names that don’t represent where they live). This matching protocol saves packet transit time and reduces lag.
The only way to get accurate ping times to your opponent is for SDS to provide that in-game.
As far as bandwidth goes, what was said earlier about signal stability is more important. If one party has a “dirty” line but has 500mbps, the wide bandwidth is degraded. Packets are pretty small for this game, so having a wide bandwidth is nice, but stability is more important.

How do you find out if you signal is stable?

Here is one website.

I guess there is no clear answer to this question.
I just want to know if it's my connection or my opponent's connection that is wonky. I'm tired of aiming sliders down and away and having them, at the last possible second, shoot straight up in the air.
I'm running 100mbps up with 5mbps down and I don't have any issues with other games. .

Ive played this game online on cheap hotel wi-fi when I have had to travel. So the minimum is low lol.

Well like I said before. I’m pretty sure this is determined by Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo. They want to sell their product and will set the minimum available to the most consumers.

Just feel like something has changed this year as I have never before had so many games negatively impacted but “perfect” input pitches that just go haywire. Literally had to quit a RS game yesterday after a couple innings as it seemed like every other pitch of mine went crazy.
I don’t really care about RS record but I know some do and so this needs to be addressed.
