Welcome to Philly!!!!
No kidding! What an atmosphere! That first inning would’ve been near impossible to overcome especially with that crowd I mean wow!
That's actually a statement for the Schwarbomb on the first pitch of the game.
Wow the DBacks are tough, it's gonna be a great series.
Edit: gonna be tooth and nail,I think. -

Edit: gonna be tooth and nail,I think.Boy they are tough. They managed to get the potential tying run up to bat in each of the final three innings. All things considered that was a pretty incredible accomplishment. I’m with you I believe this is going to be a great series.
How about Zack Wheeler. He was absolutely stalwart last night. What a fantastic performance. Oh and how’s about that first pitch laser that Schwarber hit looked like he hit it off a tee. It was there one second and the very next instant it was four hundred plus feet away.
I keep telling myself I need to check the exit velo on that one because it had to be over 110mph…probably more like 120 lolEdit: exit velo 117 and 408ft. What a missile!
PS how’s about Kimbrel - 10/10 (saves/opportunities) in his post season career…not too shabby at all

I picked the Phillies simply because of Schwarber, Harper and Turner but Castellanos is also on fire. Harper has made a huge difference since coming to Philadelphia.
Astros better start winning with their on the road magic otherwise they are done. Rangers look great and I wouldn't expect anything less with Bochy at the helm. Remember the Giants???

Lol sure do remember those Giants teams. You know if it were any team other than the Astros I’d have already given up on my hopes at a WS rematch. However and as you mentioned they are a road team and are 9 - 4 this year against the Rangers with a record of 6-1 at Globe Life Field…not to mention these guys have plenty of experience in such playoff series as these….but the biggest factor for me is that I wanna see a WS rematch dadjimmit!
Tonight we have NLCS game two in Philly at 8:07 EST on TBS.
The ALCS resumes on Wed evening at 803pm EST on FS1 -
So I was just relistening to the WIP radio call from last nights Phillies game and caught something that I missed the first time thru. I had known it was Harpers birthday but I hadn’t heard that last nights game was the first time in the big leagues that he’d ever gotten to play on it. He’s such a gamer I swear it boggles the mind that they pitched to him at ALL lol let alone after he hit that bomb.
By the way did anyone hear that interview with Harper from last night regarding pressure? If not it’s worth a listen kinda gave me a new respect for him honestly

He held up three fingers on one hand and one finger on the other hand to show he was 31 years old and then put those fingers together and blew them out like candles LOL.

Trea Turner took his turn! Boom
-
I want the Phillies to win, but I’m willing Schwarber to not hit a third home run. I don’t want to have to do that moment!
-
Wonder if I’m the only one still listening to this game lol. The announcers seem to think so haha and maybe I am what a thrashing
-
Yup Philly is dismantling Arizona

Nope! Bottom of the 8th in a mercy win...DOH.
-
15 homers for the Phillies in the last four games (two innings to go), the last 13 being solo homers how about that for a stat!
-
Moved to page 13 for a quicker reference.

Hahaha did you hear that? They must’ve heard you they brought in Jake Cave for Schwarber lol he nearly tripled but got hosed it sounded like but hey, no 3 homer moment now at least! Phew we dodged that one!
-
LOL! I know. I was relieved.
I changed the chart already. If Philly somehow blows a 10-run lead, I'll change it, and withdraw my rooting for them.

I bet we’ve not heard the last of them though don’t you? I bet they give a better showing when they’re back at home. They are plenty good enough to tie the series at home and make this one more interesting. I’d like to see some series go the distance…we’ll see what the astros have to say about tomorrow against Scherzer
-
I agree. They will have the advantage in Chase Field.
-
If I was a teenager, I would try and get Turner to give me sliding lesson. His slides are graceful and poetic. I noticed Harper came close to a Turner slide yesterday, so he may be working on it.

I watched it to the very end buddy. Philly team is much better than last year and has way more confidence. They are beast with a Louisville Slugger

So I just discovered the “condensed game” tab over at MLB and have just crammed a couple of weeks worth of games into a few hours and I gotta say I’m delighted!
Anyways just wanted to point out what an incredibly good performance that Nola put on for us last night! He was zeroed in and relaxed (yeah, a double digit lead will do that lol) and his curveball was just incredible. Those batters had no chance. Still, I say these teams that are down right now still very much have the chance to turn things around and make for a much more interesting round of playoffs.
