I still say they should add another division to each league (sayyyyy South) and two teams to each league. Rearrange the teams geographically to the divisions and eliminate the wild card. Playoffs begin with best record vs worst record for winners of the divisions in their league, then the league championship, then the World Series. No layoffs, no fuss, no muss. I can’t imagine how rest doesn’t help the players, but if it doesn’t, it doesn’t.

I know I have a spreadsheet around somewhere outlining this…

I also have one. I even made tweaks to the schedule which they already made having everyone play everyone. I sent it into the Commissioner’s office. My team placeholder cities are Las Vegas and Nashville for the additional teams.

I listened to the Braves Phillies last night and it was such an exciting ending but only just now did I get to actually lay eyes on that game ending double play and I gotta say that was one of the awesomest plays that I can remember seeing in quite a long time! Did y’all see it? If anyone missed it you gotta look it up online because NO ONE should miss seeing this play in those circumstances with that result….it was simply an awesome clutch catch by Harris and then an incredible heads up play by Riley…the games hero unquestionably! Heck I’m even pulling for the Phillies (to my shame) but that was wicked

It's not just about Rest though for the Bye teams...it's the momentum and still being in the zone for the teams that win the wild card round. Baseball's a game of Rhythm, slightest upset of that rhythm can be detrimental to a team...Braves were Flat game one. And the Phill's knew it...sending flamethrower after flamethrower up there. Game 2 they got some rhythm back...gonna be a heck of a series.

Correa was on fire. It was interesting watching him give advice on how to pitch the Astros. After offering up his knowledge and the batter would K, the camera would show Correa do a fist pump. He had a few great plays from SS that game.

I never looked at it from the momentum POV. It makes total sense!

You can’t simulate real world baseball games. Teams that sweep the LCS have lost the World Series 13 of 22 times for a reason.

Arizona has grabbed the lead early tonight…they sure are playing some good ball!

Guess the Dodgers didn’t learn how to keep from getting colder than Antartica during their week off.

It is very frustrating, especially for the players...the FO has to do better. Being regular season warriors every year is not going to cut it. At least put up a fight in the post-season. 😞

They should’ve been able to prepare for the time off this time. No excuses. Walk through games aren’t good enough.

Orioles could be going home tonight. Their backs are truly against the wall so maybe they’ll reach deep…..

…speaking of reaching deep, Bobby Abreu went deep on Sonny Gray already and Astros have a strong opening today…so far.

He was unstoppable today. We've seen some big gap scores in the DS.

He's a diffrent kind of player come the playoffs. Everything he hits leaves the ballpark.

You ain’t kidding. Those two sweepers that left the yard today were the first to do so off Gray since July…of the 2022 season lol

I thought it a very smart move on the Astros part to key on the breaking pitches today

We were having a semi-conversation on the current format a bit ago (I think it was this thread), and I just realized there is no way for the bye teams to win the series at home unless it goes 5 games. That's kind of sad because they are (supposedly) the better teams.

It was his Core collection card for sure.

Speaking of which... WHERE IS THE NEXT CORE COLLECTION CARD?

P.S. No, I am never dropping this.
