Should I sell high Set 1, 2, and 3 cards for Trouty?

I would have enough if I did. I'm at about 330K. The list I have would net me about 360K. A little more will get me to the 700K needed.
I'm not worried about a big collection, because I feel that we can't get much better than Core Griffey, or this current Trout. That's a lefty and righty batter. What more would we need from a grand collection? A super switch hitter? -
I purchased Commerce Comet for when he was almost 700k and now I wish I didn’t because as much as I love Mantle I never have done well with him and as expected I have not done well with that card. That’s just my perspective.

Because I collected every card I got , I just grinded till I got enough stubs to put a buy order . At the time he was 760k , I bought for 710k

Elly would be a great switch-hitter. Plus he has great speed, defense and a nice bat.

As much as I love the Milestone Trout (and do well with his cards) if you only have a small amount of stubs it seems silly to go all in when you can just use his Set 1 99 as a Wild Card which is just as good.

How is it just as good? Not doubting you; juat asking how.

It’s a 99 Trout. I’m of the opinion the attributes don’t matter as much as people make them out to be. Case in point the Awards McCutchen which people didn’t like is about to be P5 for me as it hits the same as his Finest LY.
Don’t get me wrong, if you have the stubs then by all means get the “newer” Trout but I don’t see it hitting any better than the WBC 99 from Set 1 (both rake).

Makes sense. I may just buy Chatisma Griffey back (used him before I went onto the hospital), Awards Cutch (for a Pirates theme team), and Sig Bogaerts (for my Red Sox theme team).
I used the WBC Trout in some BR runs and I think I'm batting .175 with him. If I can't hit with the WBC; paying up to 750K for another card I may not be able to hit with doesn't make sense.

Nope. Find the cards you hit well with and stick with them. Rickey Henderson is and will always be my favorite player. Just not in MLB The Show…..

I agree with what @rosborn27_PSN said about Trout. I’d even argue there isn’t much difference between the 99s and the All Star 97 if you love using Trout.
