perfect timing and I pulled it foul :(

This is highly common in baseball. The scenario that you just described with left handed batter down and in would be a perfect storm for a tailing foul especially if the slider had even a slightly decent spin rate. It’s just physics. Even timed up and squared up if you’ve ever played RF in a baseball game you’d see quickly that lefties hit the ball with such a spin that the ball tails away from you as the fielder.
That is unless you come across someone who squares one up so perfectly that you have a 110mph knuckleball coming at you and in that case the best thing I learned to do is to put one hand in front of the face and the other in front of your twig n berries, using the gloved hand to cover whichever is more precious to you, of course!

Yes, because Ohtani didn’t hit a 117 mph foul ball a few weeks ago.

This is a videogame. Where you're supposed to get rewarded for doing the "correct" thing. Like hitting a perfect/perfect, that is as "correct" as it can be, heck it is PERFECT. Sure you can line out, or fly out or whatever. But pulling one foul should never be one of the outcomes when you have PERFECT input and anyone who tries to defend this is worse than the coding of this game (no offense to you personally, just your mindset in this specific case).

Oh yeah, the dreaded knuckleball fly ball. Had one of those playing softball that almost broke my wrist playing RF. The other players thought I made an a** of myself and misplayed it, but I saw it moving around with 0 spin, turned my glove down as if catching it low and it slammed the wrist. Good times.

Lol, that’s her alright. I had one just like that deflect off the glove (was using it to protect my crotch assembly) and then come up and center the underside of my bottom jaw just like a perfectly placed uppercut. It stopped the momentum of the ball and I was able to keep him from advancing to second but I spit out teeth slivers for the next two innings and the resulting sharp edges resulted in a mouth full of canker sores for a couple of weeks before they finally started to smooth over. Couldn’t eat a tomato for a month lol

While this is a fun thought, many issues come up by changing from physics to situational based hitting. Besides, this was only one "perfect" - timing. And even if there were two perfect (perfect/perfect) criteria met, it is not THE perfect hit because only two parts of the equation were met. There are five basic criteria. Timing, Contact, Launch Angle, and Exit Velocity. (even more, if you want to take in barometric pressure, wind, temperature, etc). The fifth isn't a realistic criterion, but if you want to guarantee a hit, you need to take the fielders out of the picture (have them sit around the mound and talk about pizza or something).
One of the minor issues is: there's no reason to have attributes. All hitters have the same ability, and it depends on the situation to get a hit.
Yes, this is a video game. We are not standing behind the plate hitting 100 mph fastballs (or in my case watching them go by). There needs to be a balance between physics (realism) and arcade (situational). This game leans more towards realism than arcade (and that pisses a lot of people off), but there is still some arcade in it (and that pisses a lot of people off).
Personally, if I want to play arcade baseball, I'll pull out Little League World Series Baseball 2022, or Super Mega Baseball 4.
I saw another post recently where someone said (sorry, I don't remember who) that there is nothing majorly wrong with this game, but there are a lot of little things that are wrong (paraphrase - sorry). I don't know if wrong is the right word. Maybe the correct word is preferences... there are little things that don't meet my preferences, but they are only my preferences and I have the option of not playing the game if I don't enjoy it.
Each year we buy the game hoping the little things are ironed out, and sometimes they are, but other things emerge...that's the beast of programming.
All we can do for now is make SDS aware of the issues we find and hope they get fixed...if not, we have the option of not playing or even buying the game ever again.
Sorry for the tome, but my dang OCD was repeating this over and over in my brain and I had to put it somewhere to get it to stop. Maybe I should just begin seeing a therapist.

I never said a perfect/perfect should always be a homerun, in fact I even specifically mentioned it, I said a perfect/perfect should never result in a foul ball. And it shouldn't, I 100% stand by that. Also you imply that he only got 1 perfect (timing) and my question to you would be how do you know this?

Because he said it in his post.
So a slider down and in on a lefty hitter, which I hit solidly with perfect timing, but it went way foul (probably 10 feet). I suspect this should not be the case if timing means anything. RNG garbage in my opinion...

RNG garbage in my opinion...My friend, the batter feedback doesn't say "perfect" if one or the other wasn't perfect. There's no such thing as having just perfect timing, if it would be in green window but the contact is off, it would say "good" because the PCI was off. There's no such thing as a single perfect, if the word perfect shows up it is always a perfect/perfect. Not to mention all the other criteria you mention, of which I have no clue how that is relevant to hitting a foul ball with perfect input.

As a left handed hitter I can confirm I have hit absolute missile foul down and in, likely some of my best swings in life were down and in balls that ended foul because of the swing plain and spin of the ball it happens

Yeah in real life. This is a video game where you're supposed to get perfect input. It is the sole reason why they implemented the whole "perfect/perfect" mechanic in the first place, to reward players more on perfect input. I don't understand why this is so hard to grasp for everyone here.

Send your game log, I’m sure what happened was it registered as perfect visually on the feedback but then after showed you were early.

Yeah this used to happen a lot, wouldn't be surprised if it's still a thing

It's the game. Physics and timing mean way less than they should. In the hit a home run moments I get more homeruns on balls low and out of the strike zone with poorly placed PCI and just early swings than I do on fat pitches with perfect perfect. It's actually comical by now.
Before the get good gang and the true believers start in on the perfect perfect doesn't guarantee a HR.....I totally get that but the reality is this game does not reward patience, timing, and good pci placement it's just flat out random

Thanks for the comment. Doesn't the game log to which you referred only register the outcome of the AB (in this case a strike out on a subsequent pitch)?
