Musing about difficulties in ranked seasons

What if each season is a different difficulty? Season 1 is All-star throughout, season 2 is HoF, so on and so forth.
It answers the biggest question of what difficulty to choose when trying to keep ranked seasons consistent. It doesn't have to make a total choice versus casual and hardcore players and it fits right along with these seasons theme. It also lets you test out these difficulties for if SDS does want to move to a single difficulty later on, would provide valuable data.

Never happen. I've played for many years and as an older player, struggle a bit on HOF. If that is the only difficulty to play RS on, I probably wouldn't play very often.
Too many players would be excluded, especially those players who are new to the game.

A fair assessment, though I think it will be an inevitability at some point (a single difficulty, not my idea above), and this would be a way to gather data to make a more informed decision.

I prefer to play only on HOF. I think that's where the game plays best unless you are super elite and can smash on legend. However, I think if you make everyone play on HOF after season 1 or whenever you are going to alienate the majority of players that play the game. Like Tuke7-1 I am an older player at 40 years old, but I have found my groove on HOF. Legend is impossible for me.
I like the system as is and SDS made this game a little easier to hit than the last few games that I've played.

I'm 53 and have days where I struggle with timing on AS LOL! If I have time to sit and do a little practice and play a game or 2 on AS, I can get to where I can be competitive for the most part on HOF but not to the point I am, or ever would be comfortable playing at that difficulty.
Once I hit 50, the reflexes and hand eye coordination really took a hit for me. I also have issues with my vision deteriorating rather quickly due to an incident that occurred during my military service and that has probably been the biggest factor in my ability. I know that I will reach a point when Directional will be my only option but if that is what I have to do to keep playing, so be it.
WS is a very difficult accomplishment for me (only made it 4 times ever IIRC), I still enjoy playing and the competition. I just don't see SDS willing to sacrifice a very large portion of the gaming pool by changing to an "all or nothing" type difficulty level. Of course, that is just my opinion though.

Here is what SDS needs to do, have a casual ranked that is allstar only. Then you have competitive that stars on HOF and proceeds to legend. The rewards in allstar will be a 95-97, you want the 99 you go to competitive.

They already have a "casual" play option.
What they need to do, is leave it as is. Players can already basically choose the difficulty they want to play on by using the slider bar in the match up screen. If you only want to play on HOF/Legend, move it all the way to the right. If you want to take your time and work your way up, move it all the way to the left or allow the game to choose.
