What are you all going to do when your ping meters are green and you’re still losing? Lol you’ll find another excuse
I just went back and read every comment in this thread a second time. There was not a single comment complaining about losses. There were actually multiple people saying that it has nothing to do with losses, but about the experience. It is wonderful that you don’t have problems, but plenty of others do. I have yet to play a successful coop game with my kid this year. He loves it, but every single time we wind up on a freeze off. I actually don’t think I have had a single freeze off in RS games this year, but I have definitely experienced other connection related issues….and I don’t have connection issues with anything else, including other games. It 100% has nothing to do with losses.

Demise has been saying the same thing for years since he got smacked around by actual good players years ago. Now it’s just a crutch for everyone to cry connection issues. Haven’t had any issues outside of one coop game where the guys we were playing had 2 guys on last gen systems. Been playing 3s with no issues.

Oh and also there’s the fact that nobody on this forum seems to know what rendered gameplay is so they all cry that streamers get slower pitches and that’s why they win.

Dedicated matchmaking servers are a huge cost, this is a small studio and not a big player base, people are already mad about the rising amount of paywall cards on this game. Imagine what that will be like if they have to incur a huge expense for dedicated servers.

The connection issues you guys are talking about are becoming this forums crutch for losing games. It used to be “my opponent is using directional hitting” before that was “you paid for your team” now it’s “your connection is causing me to lose” in the countless hours and games I’ve put into this game online since the show 16 only one person has ever messaged me saying I won because of my connection, that was demise. You would think in that amount of game time and years it would be a problem for more people than just demise.
I use to run multiple Battlefront servers on a home pc 20 years ago with Windows Xp. You’re overstating the cost dramatically. Disappearing balls and micro stutters in an online game that relies on fractions of a second of reaction is unacceptable.
Even the streamers are getting tired of it. There’s a reason that the game was in the top 10 on Xbox thru August last year and it’s like 36th right now.
The multiplayer continues to be ignored despite the fact they want to push the online component. It’s not a good product. If you go on Reddit or twitter a vast majority of the opinions on this forum are in the minority by a large margin. SDS has been ratio’d into the ground. People like me are getting tired of the lack of support, communication and attention to the game.
It’s been how long since a gameplay update again? Ya, that’s what I thought ,but you guys here can keep simping.
Their placement on XBox free to play list doesn’t reflect how big the studio is or how much money the studio brought in. Those users paid $0 for the game genius. If anything being 36 means less of people buying stubs to offset the $0 spent to play the game.
Sony gets paid Money the game is not free and the Xbox users have made SDS a ton of money. It’s a subscription based service and the game has made more money then ever with the deal. In 21 Sony has seen an 18% decrease in gameplay time on their platform but their profits are up 13% because of the deal so that’s a 31% swing they’ve received from making the game available on other platforms.
It’s talking about MLB 2021 not MLB 2023 and does a great job pointing out add on sales aka sales of stubs. Also points out 2 other games not just this game. Leaving out some minor details there genius.
Ya you can get their you know what out of your mouth it’s embarrassing you’re still crying poor for SDS like they’re some sort of indie development house. Pathetic

Tbf they’re closer to an indie studio than a triple A studio.

I know that the speeds they see live are not the speeds we see through the capture card, so I agree with you there, saying they see slow softball pitches is crazy.
I have experienced connectivity issues and I have won majority of those games by picking up tendencies, so regardless of win/lose it is really frustrating when one game feels like it’s zero latency and the next is like swinging underwater or pitching bricks.
I understand not going to dedicated servers is a business decision, if I was them I’d continue to use P2P because it makes zero sense to pay so much money to rent and maintain the servers to put 2 people per session there.
I really hope there is something they can do to improve on the matter, ping based matchmaking is something I believe can work but I am not networking expert, so hopefully somebody that is more educated than me can elaborate more on that alternative.

Exactly. They make this 1 and only game for a reason. According to my quick search they employ ~120 people at SDS compared to 3000 at 2K Sports and 12,900 and EA Sports.

I switched from Spectrum 150mbps cable to Gig up/down att fiber and the lag is significantly more noticeable. Before the switch I would have a game or two a week that seemed like the connection was off. Now I play at least a game or two a day. And it’s much worse. Played an event game two days ago and was spamming the start button trying to get into the menus. Game was unresponsive with a several second delay. Wired connection on Xbox series X fwiw.

Turn off crossplay. While that’ll limit yourself to only playing people on XBox that’ll eliminate people on the Switch. Maybe that’ll help. They definitely aren’t going to invest in more servers when this game logs ~200 players a day on PlayStation. I can’t imagine the player count is much bigger for XBox and Switch. For comparison sake NBA2K23 still averages ~2700 a day.

Do you have trouble with reading comprehension or are you just trying to protect your bad connection crutch?
I'll say it again for you. I had over 300 losses on my RS record last year and told someone I would quit 5 times in a row (which I did) just to prove losses mean absolutely nothing to me. I want to have fun period.
Also did you know the first month I heavily played DD in 17, I made the WS with an all gold team? I'm not hungry but that doesn't mean world hunger doesn't exist. Just because you don't see something doesn't mean it doesn't exist.
