Disappointed in how events are structured
-
The events are just as lazy as last year and it’s very frustrating. Last year, many people (including me) complained that the event requirements are not restrictive enough and this year, it’s the same thing!
First, you advertised a “switch it up event” for switch hitters. Then you threw in future stars and captains…please pick one series and roll with it for the event. Otherwise it becomes very akin to RS when you can use so many cards.
Second, let’s talk about the reward structure. The first reward in the event should always be a competitive card that can be used in the current event (at least this event hit the mark on this point…unlike the other event rewards). The subsequent cards should be competitive cards for the very next event.
Third, let’s talk about length. 1 week programs shouldn’t have unique rewards past 15 or 20 wins. It’s pretty greasy out there with people trying to get 12 wins (don’t even get me started). A 2 week program, 25 wins is perfect. Having the previous 12-0 win reward at 40 is a complete joke.

I finished grinding for 40 just now but agree that’s a lot of games for a 1 week event. Sadly, this is likely the norm I think but getting 40W is my only shot at Wood/Happ/etc in the future since I’m not even considering trying for 12 Wins. I’ll just take my Kerry and take the next few days off until the next event….

The switch hitter event in ‘21 that had a Dominguez reward is what got me playing online. I love switch hitters and it brought me in. Fell in love with Events and started paying more and more online. Hardly played any events last year and very few this year. Was excited for this one until I saw the requirements and will probably just skip it like the others. At this point events are really nothing more than another way for them to throw 97s out there as something to keep people grinding. There is absolutely nothing unique or different about them.
