Stacking XP.

I figured the following is why the first two 'reward packs' in the XP Path are non-sellable; because people were waiting until the new Season started to collect their Set 1 players.
But even though those packs are unsellable is it still worth the XP headstart to wait that long to use one, or all, of the Set Collection Rewards?
Just curious why there are still people talking about doing this?
