Why aren't fielders moving quicker? (Or do I have a setting wrong?)
-
What are the ratings for the outfielders reactions and fielding?
-
Completely agree. Using Matt Olson (who's a pretty darn good defender) can't get to routine grounders at first sometimes if they aren't hit directly hit at him in Mini Seasons. There's no way he doesn't make those plays.

"Working as intended."
All jokes aside, that was done on purpose this year for cards with lower fielding attributes to help cause more balls to drop. Last year every outfielder with common or bronze fielding could track down balls in the gaps like a champ as long as they had decent speed. What fielding ratings do you have out there?
-
I actually like the way it's working this year. Fielding last year was too perfect.
-
Last year everybody did seem to catch. I see the point in it but It is very frustrating when the ball is 20 feet to your left an they break right
-
Last year fielders were supermen, so they nerfed fielding and reaction times.
-
Ive seen a lot of bad jumps this year but I'd the cards are those stats then it's more realistic. Human players do make mistakes. So do real baseball players. It's more realistic.
So it's not really a problem for me.

I don't mind more realistic fielding, but this is nuts. The ball's hit, I'm moving the controller and the fielder just stands there or takes a step away from the ball before moving. Admittedly, I haven't checked the fielding ratings on each player yet, but it seems pretty uniform to me so far. Not loving it.

In ranked we have to field, but I was talking about auto fielding vs CPU.

This is why the player attributes are important. Lots of people wanted user input to trump the player attributes. If that is the sole deciding factor then every player should be the same attribute wise.
If you have a gold fielder in CF who has poor reaction attributes, it won't matter how quickly you move the controller. The code recognizes that player has poor reaction and will compensate accordingly with a poor jump on that fly ball.
