Why Does SDS Get a Pass...and EA and 2K don't?

They’re a small studio lmao and give out dolls

Theres not a single card in this game that will be UNPLAYABLE online. Thats what the wild card is for.
Also, SDS "gets a pass" because, whereas EA or 2K would either sell a key to unlock the "unplayable" cards or they would replace those cards with a 56 overall rating and 30,000 VC needed to upgrade your mid range shooting from a 48 to a 49, SDS will replace the "unplayable" cards with cards just as good, if not better. For free.
Having ONE "wild card" doesn't change the fact that players won't be able to use these cards in a few months. Oh wait...they will be able to use ONE. Oh...my bad. I was totally off base.

Because you can field a competitive team by just playing a good amount and not paying a cent. This game has a lot of rough edges. Being pay to play is NOT one of them.
So turning the game into this is the answer?
Now every team is JUICED, so it's a level playing field...?
Sorry, I much prefer what 2K does. Sure they cater to those who want to spend money. But I can build a solid team and improve it and customize it over time without spending a DIME. And then when I jump into an online game, they have matchmaking that doesn't put my 85 OVR rated team against someone with a 98 OVR rated team.
Doesn't happen in this game. Just made the game mode dull, boring, and repetitive. I should go thru my game logs and track who is in my opponents lineups. It's like the same 6 to 10 guys.
This new way of doing things just made META-only lineups a thing from Day 1 of pre-launch until EndGame. It made it so there is literally ZERO team building strategy now in this mode.
They added Captains and boosts...and then made them virtually irrelevant because you're still playing at a disadvantage against these juiced-up 97/99 cards.

You have equal access to the same quality cards if you play the game.
EA gets held accountable because every year there are glitches out “Money Plays” and “Nano Blitzes” that bug out the coding on the Olines and coverages.
EA gets held accountable because they have cornered the market on NFL content and think we will keep buying the same foul sandwich year after year because we have no choices. MLB licenses at least 3 games. Don’t like SDS’s product? I’m sure your business will be appreciated by OOTP.
-
It’s almost like the game is 2 weeks old and you don’t know how the rest of it will play out.
-
They don't. Come May the casuals will have left this forum and we can all enjoy roasting sds for selling out.

Laughable argument. Same issues with SDS. Similar things happen with their game.
Comparing The Show and OOTP is kind of apples and oranges.
And I actually thought about OOTP the other day. Thinking that them merging with The Show would be awesome. I didn't realize OOTP had made some strides they had after checking out their website and YouTube channel. Might have to check them out.
Because this game, and this mode especially, has devolved into what is basically a first person shooter with teams full of 99s. It's like a Fortnite baseball skin.

We don't have to wait to see how it will play out. It will play out exactly the way it has so far after 2 weeks. And then it will repeat.
You'll see the SAME cards used by everyone. Maybe the cards will change, but the lack of variety will not.
The Captains cards and other cards will largely be ignored when it comes time to put together a lineup for Ranked Seasons games.
And as more content is added, you might see a little more variety, but it won't be variety from a ratings standpoint. People will just replace one 99 with a "better" 99.
Oh man...how captivating and strategic! Just a bunch of Theo Epstein's and Billy Beane's around this community!

Snappy comeback. Really strong argument you make there, bud.
They ruined this game mode, and anyone who complains should just shut up and quit. Gotcha!
Don't worry. I won't be playing this garbage for much longer.
I'd rather play both team modes from EA and 2K too. At least there is some kind of strategy built into them, especially if you aren't spending money (NMS).
It's almost like SDS decided to make this mode too easy to appease their crybaby fanboys.

Let's be honest, if 2K or EA dropped their game with alll these 99s from Day 1 of Pre-launch and then told everyone that many of the cards they were grinding for and buying were going to be UNPLAYABLE online in a matter of months...oh man...can you imagine the OUTRAGE!?!?!
Can you imagine the number of posts and tweets and YouTube videos about how "money hungry" they are...and how it's all about "pay to win"?
This mode now has ZERO strategy, it's literally about loading up with overpowered cheese cards with 125 in every stat from Day 1! They've devalued all the cards people get as Rewards...and made it so that EVERY team in Ranked is just stacked with these juiced WBC cards. I literally play the same cards almost every game, and it's been that way for over two weeks.
And why do they also get a pass on how BUGGY their game is?
I mean...I have overlays with the Orioles and Red Sox logos dropping down on the screen in the middle of Ranked Seasons games. LOL!
It's a shame. Because the actual gameplay is solid, especially when you play Ranked Online games with real teams and real players and not these ridiculously juiced cards that turn the game into Slow Pitch Softball 23 - Welcome to The Slow!
They get a pass on most things because when it comes to game modes, they tend to be less greedy. Way more microtransactions from EA and 2K

I hope SDS likes the new community they are building. Toxic FPS Adderall addicts - just look at some of these YouTube "influencers". Embarrassing.
Most don't know baseball, yet get rewarded for it in-game because of how scripted this game is.

I don't see a big difference. And at least there is a barrier to assembling a team full of 99s. And with matchmaking, I don't have to worry about that...I can play at my own pace and without the pressure to ONLY have the META cards in my lineup.
What do you think was behind this new way of handling things with 99s from day 1?
It definitely had alot to do with MONEY. Just sit back and watch that play out over time.
