I expanded my time frame to 12 months.

So I was not in a rush to get things done.
But the moments and such are horrible.
I would like to play 9 inning games to get to where I need to go.

Before this Mantle I was good with who I had on my squad.

But this Mantle has turned me into Golum and his quest for “my precious”

I stepped away for a few weeks from DD and played franchise with some old time roster that some kind soul made.
It gave me legs to finish Mantle.

But…do not dare look at my game log

The hours are mind boggling and sort of embarrassing to be frank.

I've been playing DD since 2015. Used to play year round and every single day. These past two games SDS released I quit playing for months at a time.

There was a time when DD wasn't their main focus. I can remember pulling a 99 Miggy years ago after an exhibition game and wondering what is this.

We don't even get post game card drops anymore because of all the nonsense. There was nothing better than pulling a diamond after a tough loss to soften the blow.

Yep the game has fallen into oblivion down at Davey’s Locker

Still can't believe you didn't get a 99 Mays worthy of his career stats. I don't understand that one!

No kidding. There were many scrubs that got cards with better stats than maybe the GOAT. How does this happen?

SDS logic at work....Let's give some obscure prospects a bomb card while real life Hall of Famers are unusable in the game.

Yup. I watched Willie play as a kid (old guy now) and he was always one of my favorites. His card at P5 has 115 power versus righties and 109 versus lefties.
This is a travesty. I'd say his power attributes are short 10 and 16 respectively.

LOL...guys have a good week in June and get a better Topps Now card than Willie.

When judged against other card-collecting modes, DD does a great job of making cards available to NMS players.

When judged from the perspective of someone who is NMS, has a job, and wants to do other things, DD is an absolute slog.

I had a lot of time off this past cycle and was single, so I logged unhealthy hours. I'm back on the grind now and in a serious relationship, so that won't happen again.

Sports games have abandoned robust franchise modes in favor of $$$ modes. It might be my last rodeo. I have an old ps2 and a few of the NCAA games. Might buy a few memory cards w/rosters from ebay and just embrace the golden years (load times be damned).

I'm 45 and miss the sports games prior to ultimate teams. I played NHL for 20 years before stopping. Played Madden just as long before stopping. The Show is about to be next.

You still get one if you play a 9 inning Play vs CPU game.

There were a handful of misses in terms of cards this year. Mays and Gehrig were done dirty. Absolutely.

Guys that should have had a 99 (if we’re going by the logic that Elvis Andrus and Eric Hosmer get 99s)-

    JT Realmuto
    Rafael Devers
    Ronald Acuna Jr.
    Emmanuel Clase
    Christy Mathewson
    Paul Molitor
    Warren Spahn

    I’m sure there were more

No biggie, but Mays and Gehrig were major misses.

The biggest problem is that SDS is trying to appeal to too many audiences with their game while maximizing revenue. Ideally they would release a standard game dedicated to traditional baseball fans with a fleshed out franchise and RTTS mode AND a separate game for strictly diamond dynasty. They can’t zig and zag at the same time so they inevitably let a huge portion of the player base down.

I think MLB THE SHOW 21 had it perfect. 22 was way too much grinding. I hope they go back to how they did DD in 21.

For gameplay, I wish they would go back to 17. Outer PCI to allow so many foul balls is brutal.

He's probably referring to team affinity.

Just had to set your bunt defense. It sucked but I'll let you bunt all day. Go for it

And the hitting and pitch speeds were decent. I'm not a fan of the pitch speeds changing at different levels. It wasn't always like that.

The online hand holding as gotten out of hand. No pun intended.
