New to online play
-
I'm strictly an offline player but I've played every offline mode multiple times and quite frankly I'm getting bored with it.
I have every card except for the few cards where my 1M buy order hasn't been processed.
I think I may want to try some online play. What's the best mode to start with at this point in the game's cycle?
And does anyone have any pointers?
Thank you.

If you need some of the BR rewards that's the way to go. Competition is pretty low, and for a new online player, it's pretty forgiving gameplay-wise. You'll be facing mostly sliver and bronze pitchers. You will rarely face any pitcher with outlier also.

With a lot of help from flipping, and buying stubs when on sale, I have all those cards.
Whatever I earn I just sell right now. But I'm bored with beating up the CPU so I'm thinking human competition may be better for me. Plus I want to get used to online play incase I want to get back into it next year.

Best thing to do is the events. It cost nothing and if you win or lose, it doesn't count, and you can get some really good rewards and some online experience. Yeah, it plays like trash and is nothing like Ranked, but it's still fun.

I'm an offline player too and I just went to 104 points in Battle Royale. I stopped after that because there aren't any good rewards worth losing games as much as I do. I'll tell you what though, there were plenty of stubs and great cards to earn getting to 100 points.
I am going to try some event games next week. Who knows, maybe I'll win a couple of them.

Online play isn’t too bad if you have played a lot offline you’ll be fine playing online

I highly reccomend BR and Events. BR eases you in as a poster above stated because there are more ways to advance than just wins. Since you don't need the rewards so much it won't be quite as exciting but think of it as practice for next year. Events is great cause you can utilize all your cards to make some great rosters and as mentioned, it's free and you can restart as many times as you want.
If you don't mind...which are the cards you don't have, and are you trying to collect them all?

Right now just Milestone Randy and RF Smoltz
Just the player cards. Not the Unlockables and Equipment.
