My question is why is 22 still $60 on switch? I want to buy it but not paying full price it should be like $20 now

I was thinking of having it for fun on Switch too but hoped for a deal this holiday season… guess not

It's ok, I own it on the switch because I'd do my offline grinding when I'm away from home, but I had to use directional and couldn't play online effectively.

Yes I am an offline player so just wanted to have that feature of playing there as well

I waited FOREVER for Metroid Dread to go on sale. Took almost a year, and even then it wasn't a noteworthy discount

It's $40 at Target right now. It may have been cheaper on Black Friday. I don't remember what the Switch version price was at that point. I know I got the Series X version for $10.

Yes 10-20 seems reasonable at this point in the year

If Nintendo releases an updated switch it will be there. I love my switch, however if you’ve tried playing MLB the show on it you’d understand why it’s coming to an end if Nintendo does tk t upgrade

I love playing it on the Switch also. I can't see them releasing the game for just one year on it. The OLED version is pretty new, so I don't see them coming out with another new one before spring.
Personally, I don't think the guy who wrote the tweet knows what he's talking about because he says that it will both be and not be available for the Switch.
First sentence:
"PlayStation Studios' San Diego Studio will release MLB: The Show 23 on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X | S, and Nintendo Switch."Second Sentence:
"This is the final year the PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch will receive a version of the game." -
Never heard of this guy so probably not the most reliable source, but I definitely hope it's true. The last gen consoles are holding this game back a lot. I also can't imagine the switch sales numbers were satisfactory to Sony. There's no way to know this for absolute certain but I'm guessing 80% or more of the switch versions sold were double ups with PS/XBox players who wanted to play in bed or on the crapper

Or on the road, or while watching TV, or while the wife is driving, or... there are a lot of places I've used my Switch to play the game.

I think he meant 2023 will be the last year. Either way I have a PS5 and Xbox series X so I’m good -

I’m talking online on the switch. Offline you’re right it’s fine but online is extremely laggy

"This is the final year the PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch will receive a version of the game."I've never heard of this guy and he could be full of it. After a quick Google search, he seems to be some random podcaster / Twitch streamer who wouldn't necessarily have access to any inside information. However, the two sentences don't contradict each other. When he says this is the final year for PS4, Xbox One, and Switch, he is referring to 23.
Before 22 launched SDS mentioned that they made the Switch version from the ground up and it wasn't a port. That is a lot of work if you only plan to release on Switch for 2 years. I hope that if there is any truth to this random guys statement, it is because Nintendo will FINALLY release a more powerful version of the Switch and The Show would come to that instead. I like the Switch, but it's not even as powerful as the PS4 which came out over 9 years ago. That's not a deal breaker most of the time with first party stuff, but it really shows on anything that is multi-platform and some of their newer games.
If Nintendo is going to continue to have games with cross play and cross progression (Fortnite, Rocket League, Fall Guys, MLB The Show off the top of my head) and if Call of Duty is going to make a comeback on the platform (assuming Microsoft can complete their purchase of Activision and make good on their deal to bring Call of Duty back to Nintendo for 10 years) then they really need more power. Steam Deck is closer in power for where they should be in 2023, but that is $400-650 +$90 for a dock, and I can't see Nintendo ever going that high on a console price. They decided generations ago that they need need a combination of low cost and niche features to stay relevant since they can't compete with Sony or Microsoft otherwise. They would need to put something out somewhere between Steam Deck and the current Switch.
There were a lot of rumors a few years back from pretty reliable sources about a Switch Pro. Too many for there to be no truth to them. I assume between supply chain issues and inflation Nintendo may have been concerned about the cost they would have had to launch at in addition to their inability to get a significant number of units out into the wild while fragmenting the user base. At some point though they are going to need to pull the trigger. The ambition of their first party developers is also starting to outgrow the platform. The new Pokemon game is selling great but runs like trash, and the follow up to Breath of the Wild comes out in May. It sure would be nice to have that game launch on both Switch and a Switch Pro / Switch 2 so you could play without it dropping to 15 FPS.
All of that being said, Nintendo is going to Nintendo. They always march to the beat of a different drum. Unfortunately, their drummer is...

Would make sense. Get away from all the weaker engines for 2024 release. It’s time in my opinion.
