Bunt cheese on steroids
-
It seems that the old problem that I remember being bitterly complained about going back 5-6 years is now back with a vengeance. Some 'players' are bunting to the point of just making this game so not fun (or even tolerable) to play. It is like: if you are going to do any pitifully cheesy thing to try to manufacture runs in a game with horrible flaws in the animations, then why even bother. I just had a guy bunting all over the place and I literally was able to tag 2 players (who had been at 2nd and 3rd to start the play) with my catcher. But he had already manipulated the bunt cheese to take a 3-1 lead and I had just had enough of this garbage, so I quit the game (it was 4th inning I think).
I know that 'yes' bunting is part of real baseball although less and less as the years have unfolded. It IS probably time to just eliminate the bunt from this video game altogether, And this should be combined with including DH in Diamond Dynasty. And don't give me any cr@p about old school baseball!
P.S. full disclosure - I am still on The Show '21 but I have seen some comments on here recently that make me think it is also a problem in '22.

Just bring the 2b in and the 3b in bunt defense. your problem is solved.

This. I played someone awhile back, last week I think, that was quick pitching me. I know I normally complain about quick pitching but he was actually doing the quick pause then pitch the ball scenario.
Well, after a few times I decided that I'm going to start bunting with my speed guys.
After 5 successful bunts, not in a row, he pauses the game and proceeds to send me a hate filled message about how I'm 'cheating' and then quits.
I messaged him back and told him he was doing the same thing with the quick pause pitching and told him that since he wasn't paying attention I decided to try to sneak in a bunt.
Since he never went into bunt defense, for speed guys, I kept doing it.
I told him all he had to do was to go into bunt defense and he swore that doesn't help and bunting causes the 2nd baseman to just stand there and not field the ball. Umm, yeah.
Anyway, like @eatyum_PSN states go into bunt defense when a player you think will use a card to bunt. Just be careful because sometimes people with try to bunt so you change your alignment and try to bloop hit it over the infielders.

When they force players to move the pci to bunt then the cheese will be over.

Sorry, but that does not always work. I have tried to use every possible infield configuration and have diamond level defenders but it does not work very often. I have success only when I throw it in certain locations, but even that does not always work.
I threw a pitch in the dirt, and almost hit the batter in the foot and he was safe. It's a broken exploit that SDS will never fix because that would take time and money. Their only goal is to vacuum as much money as possible from players via microtransactions.

Same problem yesterday. He and I were equally bad. 6th inning scoreless tie, he had one flukey bloop hit, but I had 3 or 4 hits and was starting to time his fastball with a lot of hard foul balls. He then bunts 5 straight times successfully.
I then promptly beaned his pitcher between the eyes and quit because I refuse to play sub human d bags. SDS will always reward cheesers because they just don't care.

It works roughly 80% of the time for me, so get out of here with "does not work very often"

So my using every bunt defense possiblity with about a 40% success rate is "working often"
Found the SDS employee.

The way you fix a guy bunting, you best solution is how you pitch to get them to bunt it at your pitcher or foul. Usually if they make it to first most likely the will take the extra lead and than I pick them off especially at 2nd base but you have to make sure your Short Stop is holding the runner on.
