120 HZ
-
I am planning to buy a new 75" TV in the next week or so. 90% of my game time is spent on MLB 20 and 22 on a PS5. My question is how important do you believe 120 HZ is and will be in the future? Does it make a big difference in games? Also I think I am right on this but isn't HDMI 2.1 only needed when refresh rate is over 60 HZ? Curious why some tv's have HDMI 2.1 ports but max out at 60 hz. Thanks for any help.

HDMI 2.0 can handle up to 1440p @ 120hz on these current consoles. You simply wouldn’t be able to reach 4K @ 120hz without HDMI 2.1. Also the current variable refresh rate on PS5 is only available with HDMI 2.1. Having a TV/Display that has HDMI 2.1 and can go up to 120hz would allow you to take advantage of all of the features of PS5 (4K @ 120hz + Variable Refresh Rate). I have not been able to experience this yet because I still haven’t gotten an HDMI 2.1 display but I’m very excited to at some point. Looking at getting an LG OLED display. Long story short you can get 120hz on ps5 over HDMI 2.0 as long as the display allows that refresh rate up to 1440p resolution.
