I am not a fan of the multiple high diamonds of the same player. Yelich just got another, useless. I would be completely fine with no more Mays, Griffey Jr or Gehrig. The ones they have now are great. Sure they could be better. But I don't think it really matters gameplay wise. If they are to get better cards, release them in late November or later when noones playing. I don't mind guys having rookie, veteran, breakout cards exc then getting a really good diamond. Or even 2 diamonds that are like a 88 to 92 and then a 99. But 2 high 90s just do nothing for me. They are essentially the same thing.

I agree with you completely. But when did Yelich have another high Diamond? His Breakout 91 was decent but this is miles better.

Otherwise, I agree and Clemente is a good example. This Finest card is a mild upgrade. Griffey should have a better card but this one never should have been released as a 99.

OP -that aside I definitely think we will get better Mantle/Mays/Griffey/Gehrig.

Theoretically, any 99 card that isn't Retro Finest or one of these legends of the franchise program cards can get one later. In reality though I think Griffey and Mays are more likely than the other ones. Gehrig and Chipper probably 50/50, the rest(Ortiz, Frank, Randy, Bench etc.) probably unlikely

Gehrigs card is great. I think that is his best card this year. And I get that Bagwell doesn’t have a career 179 ops+, but he is top 25 all time in ops+, so he is no slouch either. I don’t get why Bagwell doesn’t get the respect Frank Thomas does. Their careers were pretty much identical

I for some reason thought it was a great card. Lots of guys were talking it up. Didn't know it was just a 91.

They for some reason never want to give him a 94 MVP card. We get the best Frank every year. And I hate using him.

He was amazing in ‘94. I also wish sds would get Berkmans rights. He’s another Astro who is top 30ish all time in ops+. I think he should be in the HOF. Only had 1900 hits, but had 1200 walks in his career, owns a .400 career obp, and like I said, top 30 all time in ops+

Had some great years with the Astros. Just don't think he did it for long enough. I remember Tony LaRusa of the Cardinals use to IBB Berkman every chance he got.

Yeah, he would probably be a shoe in if he had two more decent seasons. As it stands, I think he is statistically very similar to Edgar Martinez, so it doesn’t make sense to me that Edgar is in, and Lance was off the ballot after 1 year

That Griffey Jr. card is not a 99.

Ken Griffey is definitely getting a another card it’s almost assured I would bet the farm . Mays I think will also but less sure than Griffey and honestly Gehrig I can see not getting another card. ones 99 Ruth comes out with max hitting stats it might be a mute point to even bother releasing another Gehrig seeing as his recent 99 is good enough to not warrant another and people won’t complain .

Is Babe Ruth getting another card? You can parallel his takashi to 99 but the original card is not 99.

If attributes were everything then there are plenty of first baseman that have better attributes then Gehrig, so we don’t need any more. I would play Gehrig over Ruth if it were a better card, I just like his swing. But, Jimmie Foxx has a great swing too. I know Prime Cards usually are not as good as SS and Award cards, so if they don’t give him another I will just blame it on that. What’s to say Ruth gets max hitting stats? They could dwarf him too.

Yes his for sure getting another card that’s a 99 already without taking parallel into account.

Ruth is always known for hitting on the show look at his Takashi card. we kinda know what to expect from his next 99 card max hitting stats pretty much seeing as that will be his final card .

True, but everyone is using worse defense in the outfield because they say defense doesn’t matter this year. I like my outfielders to have defense. I am aware Ruth is always known for hitting on The Show. I am just curious why they downgraded Gehrig by as much as they did.

Look, I figured it out. Since they created the supercharge, what if they have a program where you could activate a supercharge for the rest of the season On a Griffey of Mantle in effect making them a Meta 99. But after the release of this Clemente, they have set the stage for multiple 99s per legend.

Who knows they doing a lot of things differently Vs years past. the power creep is not as fast as past years they are saving the cracked out Legends max out everything for later letting other lesser guys shine 1st . That being said I think the flood gates have already been open with this content release. any 99 Legends will probably be Elite-final released cards from now going forward it’s already late September almost. Postseason content about to go crazy (99s Trea Turner Judge, DeGrom, Acuna, Jrod,Verlander, etc) 👀 .

They gave two 99s to Bryce Harper last year, not until Finest though. But they didn’t need to give anyone two. What was a 99 Griffey this year was a mid nighties Griffey last year (though the messed his stance up on that card it still played fine). I just don’t know why they put that Gehrig card out. I’m not saying it’s bad, or it’s not a 99, but it sure isn’t what a Gehrig 99 looks like. I chose Billy Wagner from that pack. So you think Griffey will get a real 99?

For sure bro he will my guess a Retro Finest to earn in a long program for all to get Craked out Elite .
