Velocity gives less time to react, not saying that it's impossible to make non-outlier pitchers good in game, but it's absolutely a challenge trying to balance that.
I have played a few guys that doesn't need an outlier to have a great game. I have enjoyed playing to them because it is pure skills in how they choose them pitches.
But trying to make every good by having an outlier is the worst thing to do in a baseball video game. A video game is about enjoyment, excitement.
It doesn't worth the frustration it to cause while playing unskilled player.Tbh it just sounds like you are being pretty elitist, using pitchers with outlier doesn't make you an unskilled pitcher
Have to disagree, I have a hard time believing that since the introduction of outlier that the player base have improved their skills at pitcher. 90% of players just throw fastball, before outlier you had to think when pitching, now it’s “get anyone with outlier and throw fastball’s all game”.
What are you disagreeing with? You didn't address anything I said there or contradict anything I said, I didn't say that bad pitchers use fastballs to help themselves. I said using a outlier pitcher doesn't make you an unskilled pitcher
Ok and I think it does, prior to outlier being introduced you had to mix well, you couldn’t just rely on your pitchers throwing 102 mph for 12 innings. Top players still mix their pitches when using Nolan but nowhere near as much as they had to in years past. It’s boring “Oh look Nolan again, guess I’ll just sit high fastball for the 100th game in a row”.
I guess I can agree that using a pitcher with outlier doesn’t make you completely unskilled, but it certainly has lowered the skill ceiling.
So if you play someone and they absolutely dominate you with a lower then 94 mph pitcher, and then turn around and use an outlier pitcher, suddenly they become pretty much unskilled just because they loaded up with that pitcher afterwords?
I would certainly respect their skills far more if and when they dominate me with Greg Maddux or Fernando over them doing it with Nolan Ryan. Outlier has dropped the skill ceiling for pitching IMO, I have thought that since its introduction into the game, which IMO was a lazy response to complaints about pitch speeds in ‘18.

What does Fernando top out at?
Fernando is ok. I think he top 93mph 94 at times. And I think the stats says he is 92 mph so he is ok.
I thought he topped out at 95, but I can pitch pretty good with him. He is my 5th starter and will use him if one of my other guys is out real early. The rest of my rotation is 4 99's with outlier though. It started out with only a handful of guys getting it... Chapman, Ryan ect. Now everybody that can throw 95 gets it. It is definitely overpowered too.

I think what he's trying to relay is that once SDS releases a card where the pitcher has an Outlier quirk (MS Ryan, FS Miller, AW Pedro just to name a few) all other pitcher cars will become obsolete because that's what is META.
I'm, and I'll assume the OP, not saying they should get rid of Outlier. But don't give it to everyone and their grandma.

I never disagreed or said any of that information was wrong though, so what exactly is the disagreement he has?
And if you limit outlier, does that not just limit who is used? Then you get even less pitcher variety.

I already stated that I agree with you that you’re not a completely unskilled user if you use every outlier pitcher, (though I have come across opponents that simply throw fastball until I hit one or two HR’s and quit) I am stating that it has certainly lowered the skill ceiling.

I prefer Finesse pitchers over outlier guys. Foul balls are crazy, people will sit fastball and check swing or foul offspeed until you hang something.

Because if the skill ceiling has been lowered, you may have SOME skilled users using outlier pitchers, but with a lowered skill ceiling it is not as many skilled users. You can’t lower the skill ceiling and also believe everyone out there using these cards is a skilled pitcher.

Outlier has dropped the skill ceiling for pitching IMO, I have thought that since its introduction into the game which, IMO was a lazy response to complaints a out pitch speeds in ‘18.
But in my example, they first dominated you with Greg Maddux, then they played a second game against you and used Nolan Ryan, do they suddenly become pretty much unskilled in that second game? Does the mere act of using Nolan Ryan suddenly make him less skilled?
I already stated that I agree with you that you’re not a completely unskilled user if you use every outlier pitcher, (though I have come across opponents that simply throw fastball until I hit one or two HR’s and quit) I am stating that it has certainly lowered the skill ceiling.
But I never said it didn't lower the skill ceiling in general, that wasn't my argument, so what exactly are you disagreeing with?
When I stated 3 post’s ago that I agreed it doesn’t make you an unskilled user I would have assumed that you would have understood that we aren’t disagreeing anymore.
I did not construe that as your post started with this after I said

"Ok and I think it does"
Because if the skill ceiling has been lowered, you may have SOME skilled users using outlier pitchers, but with a lowered skill ceiling it is not as many skilled users. You can’t lower the skill ceiling and also believe everyone out there using these cards is skilled pitcher.
Where did I state that everyone out there using those cards is a skilled pitcher?
This is what I mean, you are disagreeing and arguing with points that I have never made or attempted to make.

Ok, you called the guy an elitist because he think’s the majority of people using outlier pitchers are unskilled, I agree with him because the skill ceiling for pitching has been lowered and dumbed down. Sure some players using them are great skilled pitchers, most are not. That is the point I am trying to get across, I agreed with you 6 post’s ago, you win. It doesn’t change my opinion on outlier, or the majority of the players who use the card.

That's not what why I called him an elitist, I'm really not trying to be hardheaded, and I apologize if that's the way I'm coming across, but people arguing against stuff that isn't there really bothers me.
You didn't disagree with me because of what I said, but just because the OP was talking about outliers and you have a strong opinion about them, and tbh I AGREE with your opinion about them and about it in the game in general. It just really bothered me that you were disagreeing with me about stuff I never said or conveyed.

And I forgot about Keuchel until the person above mentioned it, adored him, 2.14 ERA 0.71 WHIP, got him to P4
Using hitters with higher vision and higher contact means it's way easier to hit then ones with smaller PCI, doesn't mean you aren't skilled if you use those
I'm not saying that people using outlier are unskilled.
I'm saying that most of the people that I play doesn't even knows how to pick them pitches. They swing to everything. Even to pitches that touch the ground. They are unskilled.
But at times these kind of unskilled players becomes hard to beat, no only because of the outliers. But because there are games in where no matter how good you swing, it will end in a fly or ground ball or in a hundreds of fouls, due to those stupid encrypted games and the perks that are also ruining players real skills. -

Maybe, but that is a conversation that has very little to do with outlier tbh.
And you can be a great pitcher and a terrible hitter, so I wouldn't necessarily correlate swinging at bad pitches with being bad at pitching

RNG has gotten worse due to the 100+ attributes, outlier just adds to the frustration of it, see Extreme Showdown for the best example.

That's the thing. They are really bad at pitching also. I'm talking about people with huge losing records and sometimes due to the 99 over outlier pitcher you can't do nothing but to be patient until the game decide to compensate for a good swing or a mistake of them.
I'm the kind of player that only like to win via real skills.

you are blaming outlier but this happened before outlier, anyone who threw less than 97 was considered worthless except for Hershiser(sinker) Sale(delivery) and submariners(funky delivery).
