Slow rundown animations
-
Okay, SDS has to do something about ridiculously slow animations that make rundowns impossible. I just lost a game 1-0 to a team with no hits. They had a runner on third who broke for home while the second out was being made at first. I threw to home, and then to third, when the runner was returning to the base. When the throw went to third, he broke for home, and then it took about three years for the player covering third to throw home where the runner slid in just under the tag. I watched a slo-mo replay of the play, and it's ridiculous. Instead of just throwing home ASAP, the player covering third took a few steps to home, wound up, and then finally threw the ball. The runner was maybe 10 feet off the bag when the man at third had the ball, and then managed to run the remaining 80 feet in the time it took him to throw it to home. This happens all the time. If you don't run down the runner, forget it. The time it takes for players to throw the ball between bases is interminable and the runner almost always wins those plays -- and it's all because of the slow animations. (And, yes, I did hit the pre-throw on all of these plays. It made no difference).
