MLB the Show gameplay theories
-
Do any of you have little pet theories on gameplay? My biggest theory is that vision and to a lesser extent, contact are the most critical attributes at the plate (as long as the power attributes are at least 70 or above)I won’t go into all the anecdotal evidence that led to me believing this, but I will say that AS Alejandro Kirk has proven this theory false I think. It would be the best card in the game if my theory was correct, but he is easily the poorest performer on my squad. What’s weird is, I hit much better with him on HOF than on All Star. So maybe my theory is right on HOF difficulty, but on All Star, Power and maybe speed are the best attributes.
Anyways, what theories do you guys hold to be true?

If I have 3rd and 0 outs or 2nd and 3rd no outs I'm either gonna hit an IF pop up or a grounder to 3rd.

- The player models are too big for the field.
- A.I. outfielders are unrealistically good at playing caroms off the wall.
- Foul pop ups float in the air longer so defenders can jog nonchalantly under them.
- The wind is god-like as 4mph can hold your homers in the park.
- Every pitcher has a perfect pickoff move to second.
- A runner on second will run BACK to second to tag, despite a batter hitting a rocket that is not getting caught.
I play offline, so I see all the shenanigans in the game. Fake, baseball intelligence insulting BS to simulate difficulty

I’ve never thought about players being too big for the field. I don’t know if I agree with you on that one, but I’ll definitely be looking at that next time I play

Haven't really developed any theories as it relates to Diamond Dynasty just yet, but as far as Road To The Show goes, it seems like if my guy comes to the plate with the bases loaded, you can bet your boots he'll either SMASH a double to clear the bases, or he'll ground into a double play. Seems like those are the only two possible outcomes.
