Frustrating pickoffs against LH pitchers!!!
-
PLEASE tell me i am not the only one who is experiencing being on first as a baserunner, with a left handed pitcher, and they, for whatever reason, have the ability to attempt to pick you off, while the usual left trigger does not react straight away as it usually would. It does the whole slow motion effect like normal, but when i react to it, my controller chooses to do nothing. Right at the most "inconvenient for me but convenient for the ai" sort of moments too. I've experienced this a few times on 21, and now on 22, and this time it just made me go absolutely mental!!

Step taking extra lead genius

Incorrect, i haven't been taking any extra steps in my lead, this is happening while i am at the default minimum lead, and using lb/l1 to lean back toward the base.
Just happened to me again, but this time at 2nd. Had the minimum lead, was leaning back toward 2nd base, staring at the pitcher's feet, then all of a sudden the camera shifted to a zoom in of my player, and i was picked off. So even if it did work, wouldn't know what was going on because i couldn't see the pitcher.
Feel like this is a game developer's version of trolling people. As this is frustrating asf.

I've never had this happen because unless I plan to steal, I hold the left trigger the entire time I'm on base, until the pitcher delivers his pitch. If you just hold L2, you will never be picked off. You especially need to hold it when you are on 2nd base, because they will try to catch you napping. If your guy has low reactions, he will hesitate before getting back if you try to do it yourself, which may be what you are seeing.
I've turned holding L2 into a habit. I'm not trying to rely on my own reflexes, because sometimes you get the slo-motion animation which will give you time to get back, or you might get the instant animation, in which case you're dead. I don't lean in either case, since it's a "tell" to the AI that you're up to something.
